  10. Known at Stafford as 'The Preston Cybermen' something to do with there slow almost robotic dance style. There week in, week out. Sadly Gaz has had a rough life since then, Stan came to my wedding a couple of years ago, top guys one and all.
  11. Big tune at Yate
  12. I would agree, I have never thought of Stafford as the only club that should get props. Morcombe, 100 Club and Leicester all where great allnighter. The difference was that Stafford set out to run a totally newies room, which ran for four years, so shear logistics would say alot was played there. Also Shaun ran and advertised Morcombe as an oldies allnighter and with it's location in the North West it always was going to get big numbers. In fact I can remember several letters in mags of the time from attendees complaining about DJ's playing new stuff at an oldies allnighter. But as Russ say, positive note and this tread isn't about Stafford, but the great music played since

  18. I remember well Ian playing it and he even found one for me. Pat did cover it up before he was djing at Stafford. I remember telling him what it was somewhere and he was not best pleased
  19. Ian Clarke, Stafford tune
  20. Was one of the un-released Motown's played by Dave Withers, along with 'Suspicion/Boy from crosstown/Angel doll/Lonely lover/Say, say baby' etc
  21. That would make sence, I know we ran for close on four years.
  22. Doing the CD first with Ian, then maybe a book when I get the barns finished
  23. That's partly because it ended suddenly, no big last night. The new owners of the club had inherited us when they took over the club and didn't really get the whole soul/allnighter thing. So in a search for something to close it, focused on the drug thing. It was fair to say that by the mid 80's people jacking up and leaving works in the toilet pans had become a bit of an issue. We had to sweep the build three times a night to clean up ofter others. In the end, the management just annonced that this was the last one, and so it ended, no fanfair. But by then it had do it's job as a venue, the scene was in much better shape than when we open our doors, new DJ's and venues where everywhere, fun while it lasted, but never out stay your welcome.
  24. Tell me about it!!!!!
  25. This is the sillest post of the day, but I don't know when Stafford ended . My memory is shot, can anyone give me the date of the last one we did.
