  11. Jerri Richards-Goin' away-Royal Sheild, even has a steam train intro and the open lines of 'Fifteen hours on a midnight train'.
  12. I seem to remember that the label did start out in Arkansas, then the owner mover up to North Carolina some time in the early 70's.
  13. 'UK reissue company', Ady don't sell yourself so short. 'Keepers of the flame', 'Torch bearers for classic soul', 'Keeping the dream alive' etc etc
  14. Yes love the Eula Cooper, just got myself a stone mint one, as my last copy was a bit beat. Most of the Wylie Hester stuff never saw a 45 release apart from 'Say it isn't so' Dave
  15. My fav was always the one with all the un-released Popcorn Wylie/Hester stuff, 'Down in the dumps/Hanky panky/Spaceland' etc
  16. Hi Maria I'll give Ron a ring and see if he has a copy lying around . Sadly Ron never even kept a file copy of any of his stuff. Good luck searching Dave
  17. Hi John Your right, it is a very rare record and as I said 'Just to add the the urban myth'. All this chatter, is good PR for the eventual sale and I thought I'd add a few versions of the many stories that have circulated over the years. Anyway, hows business generally. Dave
  18. If your at the Motown studios, don't forget to pop into Peoples Records, lots of lovely vinyl. It's only a 10min walk from the studio, and pretty safe long as you stick to West Grand and Woodward Ave.
  19. Whilst out in the states met up with a guy from Sony. He told me that they were closing alot of their reginal offices in the US. With the current state of the industry and the general economic climate, they were making major lay offs
  20. Just to add to the urban myth. Pops an old dealer who recently died, from Richmond, Virginia. Told me he had one, that several people in the area knew he had it and he had shown it to them and they would vouch to this fact. A collector from the west coast visited him, he showed it to him and some hours after the guy left, he realised that it had been stolen. Also the guy that has the collectors shop in Allentown, PA, claimed to have one but would never show me it. Then there was the copy that Ron Murphy from Detroit had, but I thought that was the one that Tim Brown had.
  21. Yes, sounds like his version
  22. Hi All Thanks for that I've just found a mis-press as well. Mine has has a track call 'Memorey Lane' on MM Diamond Records on the flip Dave
  23. Hi All How many version of the beat ballad 'Soul Searcher' are there and on which labels. Thanks Dave
  24. One of those things I would never let go, as someone said I did put in Refo some time ago. Came from a guy advertising in Goldmine many years ago had a bunch of pop acetates for sale. Asked if he had any soul and he sent 20 bellsound 7". Those were the days Dave
  25. These tracks are also out of Florida, so maybe they did a deal with the producer, who is the same on both sides of the one I have
