  1. We had treads covering most things, but not this yet, so why not lets get postings
  2. Just got back from Prestatyn. The live acts were great, not just the singing performances, but the backing group, quality of sound and they were clearly well rehursed. So often in the UK we get artists put on at soul events, that haven't sang for many years, don't know half the words and you think 'why?? such a shame'. In addition some not even with a group, but to backing tracks, it cheats the public and the artists. Now I know some say it's about cost, but if the whole thing is so poor then just don't bother. Last night was a sheer delight and when the The Volumes aka The Magnetics, sang 'Lady in green' several people near to me were in tears. The hit all the key changes, harmonies, a moment of sheer magic, a northern soul classic brought to life. Add to that a belting set from one of my favorite girl singers Eula Cooper, 'Beggers can't be choosers'. Last night will live with me for many a year. Then went next door and Incognito did a master class in the same. There are many things I don't like about the event, but the live acts there get better and better and for these I keep coming back. Dave
  3. Hi Stu Hows tricks with you. I saw him live at a Womad festival in The West Counrty, only a relatively small crowd, but he was amazing. Just went to see him and he didn't disappoint Dave

As they say on Flog It 'Quality sells' Thanks to everyone that has purchased a copy and all the dj's that have played it in clubs and on radio. Dave & Malayka

  9. This is one of those occassions where the 12" sells for more than the 45, I've sold 2 at £175 and have seen it sell on the bay at around that. The 12" came out on Disco International, same as 'Spanish maiden'
  10. I rather pay not charges on anything, but doesn't seem to work that way. You have credit cards, which is fine. I like the fact that paypal gives me instant access to the money. Horses for courses. But still comes back to offering customers a method of payment as part of the service as a seller, credit card or paypal. I have always found it a bit cheeky saying 'I want to sell this, but I'm going to make you pay so I can get the money'
  11. I take Paypal charges on the chin, and see it as part of doing business. The same as bank charges, credit cards etc

  23. Hi Guys Due to the fantastic response to our first release. The Rotations-When he slowly moves away from you/We want freedom-Roxanne Records We have stepped the release date up to 1st March. These two tracks come from the Lawton sessions recorded in the early 70's in Philadelphia. This is the same group that recorded on Frantic in the late sixties and also shares one member with the original group that came from Ohio. The session was produced by Manny Campbell, now owner of Coastal records in Atlanta and the man behind the much sought after Nu-Rons and Tearra. Manny has licenced these tracks to us to launch our new label Roxanne Records. The label's aim is to bring the occasional high quality, much sought after release to soul fans around the world. This release will be retailed at £20 + P&P, which is a little higher than some other new releases, due to a higher licence fee than normal to persuade Manny to put the track out. But we thought it well worth it, so we could have the oppertunity to put out these two stunning tracks, we hope you agree. The record will be ready for posting from 1st of March from these highly reputable companies. So get your pre-orders in today, remember this is a limited 500 pressing and no more will be pressed. www.topdogrecords.co.uk www.recordshack.org www.soulmusic.co.uk www.rarenorthernsoul.com www.crazybeat.co.uk Plus Albert Petit for our friends in Spain Dave & Malayka
