Earnest Sparks - I'll Be Glad - Soul O Sonic
Dave Thorley replied to Haydn's topic in Look At Your Box
I also am ready to stand corrected, I thought I had seen one on a different coloured label, but just pulled mine out and it is also white, so maybe it was my imagination. The label generally had different coloured labels for nearly every release. -
Earnest Sparks - I'll Be Glad - Soul O Sonic
Dave Thorley replied to Haydn's topic in Look At Your Box
If I remember correctly there are several different coloured labels, would have to dig mine out to have a look. I agree with Chalky, about £300, Ernest told me that he wouldn't have pressed many more than 500 copies of this. Which would make it a fairly hard to find record 35+ years later. Dave -
Thats the one, any news on when it is gonna be availble Dave
-
Hi Mossy I noticed on there that someone mention another site. He said that Vince Montana and a bunch of the Philly guys have left Soulfuldetroit for another site, do you know what it's called. Dave
-
I saw some where on the web that their is a company about to re-launch the 'Soundburger'. Have to see if I can find it. Agree with Vince the Vestax starts to fall apart fairly quickly.

$15,000 Single For Sale - Rarest In The World
Dave Thorley replied to Pete S's topic in Look At Your Box
Agree it's a jazz track really, don't see what it has to do with Popcorn either. Mind the guys from Belgium, very odd bunch of dealers over there. I noticed a few of them in the last month on Ebay with 'Buy it now' prices to make your eyes water. -
Hi Guys Just seen the sad news on Soul Tracks, that Marvin has passed. See link to Soul Tracks https://www.soultracks.com/story-marvin-isley-dies Dave

One of the leading lights in the Washington Go Go scene passes away. Little Benny will be known to many over here for his Go Go standard 'Who comes to boogie' Chuck Brown and other comment see link https://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/blogs/artsdesk/general/2010/05/31/r-i-p-go-go-pioneer-little-benny-chuck-brown-others-reminisce/ Dave

Yes and no, that was a price that seemed fair to me and one I was happy with. I'm more interested in having sales daily, rather than ringing every last penny out of things. Thats why I also don't auction much stuff, get them sold and go off to the states and find more stuff.
-
Just looked back at my database, sold one last year for £600, do remember that it sold within a few hours of being listed and took another six calls on it that same day.
-
and Neil memtioned one earlier in this thread Johnny Sayles - I can't get enough

Some of my earliest memories at soul events are of Max at the turntables along with his old mate Kojak. Back then as a young buck it seemed what ever the record you asked for they would be able to pull it out of their record boxes, happy days.
