  1. Had it in the box for the Stafford re-union, but never got round to it. Dave
  2. Brad's store in one of the best in the mid-west and it really is worth a day there if you haven't been before. You can always find great priced classics, the odd rare thing and the unusual. Secondly everyone that works there are nice people and you can just have fun hanging out, this is a must for any trip to Detroit.
  3. The price is one thing, trying to find someone who wants is the other, had about 5 of them in stock at £20 for years, never sold it:lol:
  4. Paul was editor and I think part owner. He also, had a 70's hit with the oh so bad Car 67-Driver 67, which he joint wrote the lyrics too. Paul now helps out with ad sales for Manifesto. Dave
  5. Hi Rob Nice job mate, great info and cool you share it with all. Just a note Buford 'Fab' Glanton, went on to record as David Lenyard and was also a member of Four Real Inc. all of which came out on Flying Eagle. He still lives in Detroit to this day, but has suffered from poor health for many years.
  6. Sam Dees was covered as Dan Brantley, I have Ady Pountain to thank for that.
  7. That will be a young Butch in the photo and with hair, bless him
  8. There has always been an anoying element of this, but your right it has increased. Economic climate can always be used as one reason, people seeing things they really want and then in the cold light of day not having the money. The thing that gets me most is the lack of communication, if some one is having a problem paying, just say and in most cases I'll put on hold, or take stage payments. But to just not responed to emails, messages etc, is plain rude. Fortunatly, I still find those that act like this to be a very small number. Dave
  9. Hi Sean We've got one on our site a fair bit cheaper than that. Dave
  10. Haven't we all, bunch of old hippies really:D
  11. PS, by the late 60's the opposite was the case, due to the Hippy Counter Coulture, it was then cool to 'Drop Out' or 'Tune Out'
  12. that refers to being part of the 'In Crowd', ie don't drop out of it, Rather than say not dropping out of school. In Crowd, being another 50/60's hip term.
  13. Hi Mate Yes it did get a second pressing a few years later, but I think it was legit. Dave

  15. Sorry to hear your unemployed mate, hope it's not for to long.
  16. Totally agree Ady, point being total obssesion with, lets say first issue, can't play legal second pressings, UK issues etc, dosn't always give us the most exciting DJ's or even, dare I say, venues.
  17. PS. Back in the day every top DJ to a man, played one or two acetates, or less than Kosha disc. You went out to hear the best DJ's (and I mean entertainers as well), play the best sounds, to string together a set of great records that made your head spin. They had the ability to wind up the crowd and create excitment and sometimes to do that, they needed a record that they didn't have on an original copy, did we really care, did we hell. Now with the much greater availbility of originals this should not be the case so much now days, but do we hear the best DJ's???
  18. Oh come on Ritchie, lets not get into who played what first, and I don't think he was saying that Ian was the first person in the world to play this. Around that time lots of records were being played in different parts of the counrty at the same time. But unlike today, without the internet, networking sites etc etc, there was far less awareness of this.
  19. Our obsession with originals only can/could be a two edged sword. Have noticed over the last few years, DJ's and I don't exclude myself from this, playing lesser quality copies of records just to have a copy of a record to play. Is this fair on the paying public, who pay good money to get into venues, only to hear 'Chip fryer' sound quality from the sound system. Secondly, god forbid if any young person wanted to start djing, the cost of buying originals only, may well put them off even starting. Lastly, the other effect of this overiding atitude, is that we may not hear the best DJ's, as more and more we hear the people with big bucks, with fantastic collections, but not a clue how to DJ dominate the line ups of many venues. Just my thoughts, don't expect everyone to agree Dave
