  1. Firing Squad, as he would enjoy the 10 lashes too much
  2. Morning young man, you feeling alright, this is a very measured post. Agree with most of what you say, as a historic site, it would lose what makes it special. But as Tony said way back in the thread, music venues like this have all but gone from central London. Dave
  3. And a couple more https://cgi.ebay.com/Early-Clover-Freedom-Funk-Soul-45-/280564087213?pt=UK_Records&hash=item4152ec39ad https://cgi.ebay.com/Early-Clover-Georgia-Soul-Drifters-70s-SOUL-45-Freedo-/190448191014?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item2c5798c626
  4. Hi John Every copy I've heard is poor quality. Remember Richard Searling having this in the late 80's, he played it to me raving about the track, but said he could never play it out. Dave
  5. Been told on more than once that Macca has a good soul collection
  6. Think this came out twice, once with 'We're together' and once with 'Baby when love is in your heart' as the flip. Also there are the double a sided demo's of 'Are we breaking up'. It seems that the We're together' backed copy is much harder to find, and this has had some plays, hence the price. Might be wrong, sure others can add more. Dave Dave
  7. Here you go Phil 1. Ray Scott & Scotsmen - right now / feeling no pain (Decca issue) NM £150 Stormer which has had recent nighter spins 2. 8. Hi Tony All good points above, was trying to make my first email short and to the point. Should I get a reply, which I sadly don't expect to, I can also make the above points. Cheers Dave
  9. Simple guys, stop sitting here moaning, do something. I sent this off to Boris this morning as an email. If the 100 Clubs goes it will be a shame, but as I state it's part of a much bigger picture, where we are all letting our musicla heritage disappear. Also sent it to Ken Clarke, big jazz fan. Hi Boris I'm am sure you will be aware of the musical heritage of the 100 Club, Oxford St, sadly it's seems that it is to close. Having read statements put out by the owners, it seems that it is just another casulty of these economic times. The thing that I find sad is that we, in this counrty seem to care little for our musical heritage, that has for a major part of the 20th century, lead the way and the 100 Club was a key part of this. But it now seems that this will also go the same way as the Marquee Club. I am a soul music collector and DJ and as such I travel the US alot, there the importance of such places has become apparent over the last 20 years and much has been done to save the history and often the buildings as well. Projects like the re-building of Beal St, The Stax studio and the protection of the Motown studio's, Detroit, as a historic site. Surly it's time we woke up to our great musical heritage and start with the 100 Club as a way of leaving a mark in the sand for future music lovers, be they Jazz, Rock, Soul or Blues lovers. Here are a few related links https://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=160380190641113 Don't know what you can do, but would be interested in your thoughts. Dave
  10. Her dad was being sent promo's by Nashbro in the UK from the U.S., he must have been about the only one. Who was her dad????
  11. Chex was Willie 'Tony' Ewing own Detroit label. Tony was also a member of The Four Voices, also check out his nice uptempo dancer 'Every Dog Has It's Day' also on Chex. Cheers Dave
  12. And a mighty fine record in it's own right. Over the years has always stayed slightly overlooked.
  13. Hi Pete Quality will always show through and this is a quality evergreen, as I said before. Dave
  14. Nice response to this, thank you all, keep em' coming Dave
  15. Hi Pete Bit of an evergreen one this and seems to hold it's price well, I would have thought about £900. Cheers Dave

  22. Don't think so Pete, could have been late St Ives or Abingdon allnighters
  23. The two on Popsike were through a friend in Atlanta, he got three from Rickey, kept one and sold the other two. I got the last two spare copies Rickey had and I paid him much more than they sold for on Ebay , as they were his last two and also as he toild me that he only pressed 200. Most of these he gave away free around local gigs he did in Atlanta. Cheers Dave
  24. Nice early photo. I saw him in the studio about 2 years ago cutting, what turned out to be his last album. At the time he seem so fit and well and in very good spirits, so when I heard he had passed a few months after I was shocked. But it did bring it home to me, that I should grab every oppertunity to meet these guys when I can, as so many are now passing. Dave
  25. I just sold one at £200, but as you say depends on how much someone wants it. Can't have been pressed in that large a pressing run and it's a great 2 sider. Seem to remember Clarkie paying around that much for one of the first copies back in the 70's. Dave
