  1. On what releases does the full spoken intro version from the LP appear. The U.S. Strata East 45 doesn't have it, it is a edited version. Just found a French 45 copy and this has the spoken intro and seems to be the full 5.14 version. Anyone one know about other release of it, ie Dutch, Belgium Cheers Dave
  2. I missed it by a few minutes. Jay-Z interviewed by Evan Davis about his career as a record label owner. Also a programme called 'From Brooklyn to the Boardroom' which Alvin Hall did on the man, but it's not in listen again. Did anyone hear either.
  3. I believe the 1991 issue was a edited version rather than a re-mix, and to my knowledge there has never been a 7" copy of any of the versions.
  4. We're off to Marc Forrest's do in Berlin, always good at New Year, but maybe you were thinking in the UK:D, mind flights from london are cheap if you book early
  5. And under the black felt pen I think you'd find a UK cutting studio address
  6. Had a little trundle round the Paris flee market on sunday after the allnighter and picked some nice picture sleeves. First time I'd ever seen a photo of Richard Marks !!!!! and a nice demo of the Miracle Workers - Overture
  7. He recorded this for his wife. I'd put in a link to refro, but there doesn't seem to be a tag for cut and paste
  8. About £100 -£120 stone mint. Spoke with her a few months ago, real nice lady, she is going back in the studio soon Dave
  9. Would have thought it was about £15 not much more. I seem to remember Pat Brady playing this at the Casino, no really
  10. Oh yes, Colin Curtis at The Mecca, came out on a 45 as well richard popcorn wylie - lost time -
  11. Now some of you know that I have always loved this Lp, not a bad track on it. Played several tracks, back in the day at Stafford, but hells teeth, this used to be £30-£50 lp. Who says LP don't sell, only wish they came to my site, got shed loads of them. https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160495706513
  12. Richard has started a blog, which he says he will keep updated regularly. News in there of a new book and the launch of his new record label. Heres the linkhttp://www.richardsearling.co.uk/ intro from the site..."Welcome to... Tap to view this Soul Source News/Article in full
  13. Richard has started a blog, which he says he will keep updated regularly. News in there of a new book and the launch of his new record label. Here's the link http://www.richardsearling.co.uk/ intro from the site... "Welcome to my blog - I ll be keeping you up to date with all my music-related projects, and who knows, if the team plays well, a bit about football too! Hopefully you find it all thought provoking and informative and I look forward to receiving your feedback - as long as it's all positive of course!"
  14. So those £10 records your buying from me, you sell on:ohmy:
  15. Just had a nice note from Richard Searling, I sent him a sound file. "The track is awesome! How I wish I was still on radio and I d play it to death...well done!" Artwork been worked on this week for the sleeve, then we can start production. Always exciting getting some you have worked on out.
  16. Hi Carl Thanks for that, I know you unstand the trials of an endeavor like this. But I have to say the magic has come from the muscians, producers and arrangers in Detroit. As you know it is still a city of so much talent, all they need is a little money, bags of encouragement and a little help getting it out there.
  17. Don't worry, pre-release we will post it on here so you can order it. Thnaks for everyones interest Dave
  18. And I genuinely take that as high praise, thank you
  19. Still talking to the pressing plant (Archers, Detroit) and sleeve manufacters, but looks like it will be between £15-£18 retail. Hopefully will be availble from major soul outlets in the UK & europe and my own site as with the Rotations release we did 18 months ago.
  20. A few years ago I was given a private pressed cd album that had been recorded in Detroit over 18 month period. It was an interesting mix of all new contemporary soul recordings by a bunch of talented Detroit musicians. I was so taken by it, and one track in particular 'Give it what you got', that I met up with them to learn more. As a result I got involved in putting out some more material from these guys. My role has been mainly that of business angle and have not tried to influence the making of the music, as i felt that would affect it's purity. The results are now just about ready for release, we will be putting out a limited 200 pressing vinyl LP and there will also be a CD a few months later. The LP will come with 8 tracks, one from the first CD 'Give it what you got', which I just love and 7 new tracks. The CD will have 12 tracks on it and where they are the same as the LP, many will have different mixes. I often here people say no new good soul music is being made, thats untrue, but with the age old problem of funding, the new ones of how to distribute and get your music heard, it's fair to say less is. I'm so, so plaesed to be bringing this to market, hope you guys will find it interesting. Below is a track from the LP I have posted before, but hopefully this will give you a flavour of what will be coming, real songs, by real musicians funk factor - give it what you got - Cheers Dave
  21. All the versions of Lighten Up/Ain't that love enough etc. Roy Roberts/Deadbeats Georgous George/Rochelle Rabouin
  22. As John said this is a Virus and a very nasty one
  23. Thinking back, I seem to remember Mr Clarke playing this at Yate in the late 70's
  24. Sadly not, just one of those nice little things played at Stafford
  25. Heres another of those not often seen ones
