  5. Sure it wasn't this version michael valvano - for the first time in my life - jodi-pat
  6. There is also a very nice version by the songs writer Michael Valvano - For the first time in my life - Jodi-Pat. Used to sell for a fair bit, but now days you can pick it up for around £100-£150
  7. Hi First turned up by Brad Hales from Detroit, he played for the first time in Bamberg, everyone flip to it and Sam put it at the top of his wants list, that copy he sold on Ebay for £3K. He found a second copy, that he gave to Malayka, after taking the can for a disturbed nights sleep a year later a the next Bamberg . The copy that Sam has I believe is the third copy to surface. It's on a tiny Detroit label called Fuja and is said to be one member of the group Pure Pleasure that had the track 'By my side' on QC. So far no one has been able to find the guy and the record has proved to be very elusive.
  8. Hi Guys www.topdogrecords.co.uk Some really nice rare 45's this week, nice mix of northern, crossover and modern, all with sound clips. Ronnie Loveman Stokes - Let me touch you again - Philly Town - £300(Selling on consignment, client has agreed to drop the price from last week. This is very rare, spoke to James Bynum, the producer/label owner back in the 80's, he told me he only pressed 200/300 of these and it never came out on 45) Stemmons Express - Woman love thief - Wand - £250 (Classic backing from the Precision - Such misery, with different vocals) DeBow - Crime - Unicorn Project - £400(Indemand killer funky side, Community project 45 given away free to promote anti-crime in Louisville, with picture bag, so rare!!!!!) 7 Nombres - Listen people/Full of love - Day-Wood - £520 (One of Clevelands hardest, Lou Ragland produced, cool group 2 sider) Plus other new arrivals, Techiniques IV, US Everday People (Old Holidays C/U), Turner Bros., Lee Fields and many more...... Thanks for looking Dave and Malayka
  9. Chris, you created an event that will live long in the memory of many on the soul scene, innovative, friendly and a real meeting place. It was a great little club (well when I say little it was a bit of a 'Tardis', with it's three rooms) and the two owners were real nice guys. But a bit of a bugger to get to unless you lived in Burton , those final 15 miles from Ashby and all the speed cameras were a nightmare. Be proud, great event. Cheers Dave
  10. No he won't. Had one back in the 70's sold it for £50 late 70's. This one came out of a U.S. DJ collection that took me 10 years to get into, one of my all time fav's and now it just says Bamberg and Brad Hales (You had to be there to understand).
  11. No guys some of you are missing the point. It's fine, I now have a stone mint one in stock which I am happy to let him have if he sends the other one back. No I posted it up more from a humourous stand point, lets be fair how often do you get a email like that, it just made me smile and thought I'd share it. Also the guy involved would never come on here, he from a completely different soul scene elsewhere in the world. As I said just made me smile.
  12. Have edited it a bit to protect indentities, but how refreshing, sort of !!!!!!!!! Dear Dave, Do you remember me ? I had bought you the following record for 65 euros (perry michael allen turn on the music 7" on waylo ). At that time I told you that I never received the record and you refunded my 65 euros back. I had told you that I had not received it because the state of the record was not that good, during our exchange you told me that the state of it was close to VG+ or VG++ while you had put on your website that the state was near mint. I was really not happy with the state of the record and I decided to tell you that the record was never received instead of exchanging with you regarding its condition. I am really sorry and I sincerely regret what I did, it's been more than a year now that I say to myself refund him. I always think about it and I decided to refund you today on your paypal address XXXXXXXXXX Honnestly I would really like that you refund me a part of the payment (65) because the condition of it was not as you said, however it is not mandatory, you decide.
