  1. Just for the record..... i got my copy off Rob Smith about 8yrs ago for £40 ex + to replace the one i sent for out of blues & soul mag, on comtempo in 1974 , from memory i think it was released on casino classics too,? couple of years later ?
  2. There was one for sale on soul source about a week ago for £ 150 ? You can buy the album Caviar & Chitlins for about £30 -£40 'blowing up' in stereo !, sounds awesome by the way, + lots of other good tracks , confused.com

  5. I like this version did they record it before the stones ? Can remember bobby womack being lnterviewed on the 'tube' by the late paula yates, he told how upset he was about these white boys taking his music, untill he recieved the royalty cheque ! Then he went, do they want to do anymore of my tunes?

  13. First time i come across this was in 2004 on a vinyl compilation called northern soul in the city, totally blew me away. Very rare on a lable called International soulsville.What i would like to know is who discovered it ? When & where it was first played? Current value too, & just how rare is it ? Hope someone out there can help, many thanks Martin.

  15. Bloody hell din't know about this , thinking about you mate, top man, i'll make a donation. Let me tell you all, got determination all right , like the night 5/6 years ago when he walked from nottingham train station to blackhearts allnighter when it was held in bestwood village ,7miles in a snow storm wearing leather soled shoes ! Never forget the look on his face when i told him he could of got a tram to within 1/2 a mile . All the best for 2018. Martin.

  19. Northern came lata the soul was discovered hearing me dad trying to match Paul Robeson's rumble on old man river , best part of sixty years ago.
  20. Getting off the original question a bit , but, what about stampeed to dance floor when said record played 73/74 bit like standing outside exit to a tube station at rush hour !
  21. I can remember reading back in 1975 ish proberly in blues & souls that if all the pressing's/ boots sales were put together it would have entered the top ten / pop charts. Perhaps why it's not played much today? Another reason maybe soft cell 's version . Also remember 1st time i heard soft cell i was having a shave at the time allmost cut me throat WTF .

  25. I don't know about WHY i play it sometimes round nottingham as a amateur collector /warm up dj, just as a reminder really that there are nice tunes out there that cost under a grand , lol.
