  1. Me too, great atmosphere, great venue
If you have been around the scene a long time you will know what a fantastic event this was just by looking at the DJline up ! This will go down as one of best of the year & January 's still not over ! Its not only the football thats premier league on the banks of the Trent ! Surely this format needs to be repeated, personally I would pay more on the door if need be . I've got a devil sitting on my shoulder telling me to keep this a secret , but I can not . Share the faith. This is really worth a visit, if you gain entry, you'll be one of lucky ones x
No soul event I have ever been to deserves less than 5 stars, if i could give this one ten i would , the amount of unseen work that goes on by promoters, financial risks , investment in equipment , preparation by the staff , D J'S with their collection of records , & travelling miles to entertain. Much appreciated by me . This is my effort, brothers & sisters lend me your eyes . Day began with a flat tyre ,bugger! It's 11am I'm on a tight schedule, local garage sorts me out , to the cafe for a full English, black pudding, fried bread, don't need to ask they know what I want ! Park & ride tram , it's rammed, I'm heading to Forest v Ipswich, City is packed with shoppers etc, supporters club for couple of guiness zeros. Scappy game we win 1 nil . Back on tram I tell ya sardines get more room ! Call at chippy on way to the Mansfield Rd , then on to the notorious A614, the weather is good for driving, arrive at the Innings just after 7pm. First time here good looking room , I know a lot of the faces, friendly welcome especially by Birthday boy Billy . So , let the dancing begin & boy just about everyone here his a good dancer , proper vibe , proper respecting each others space . Had a bit of a disaster went for a pee & the zip broke on my trousers so had to wear my tee shirt out to cover my potential embarrassment! Lot of talc used , not my liking , bit slippy at times . Good mix of northern anthems & r & b . R & B popular with regulars . I left 11 . 20 pm swiftly out the door i don't do long goodbyes . Brilliant event ,Brilliant day . Don't ever stop keeping on xx

  2. Counting down the days ... till its time to board the 11:42 am train from Nottingham to Manchester, meet up with friends old & new at the New Union Pub then on to the Wheel ! Brilliant last month again ! Would love to hear Tony Michael ' I love the life I live ' or Doris Troy 'Just one look ' or 'The Markets Bella Dalena ' please , don't ask you don't get , not be the first time I've been called a cheeky sod !
That was the Grosvenor back to its best , no prisoners taken no quarter asked & none given . Total northern soul from the beginning, no warm up , bang have it ! Some tired legs at the end & plenty of smiling faces. If you like your nights like this I will see you next month , sure to be a storming stomping packer , part of yours & mine keep fit campaign for body & mind .See some of you next weekend until then take care x
Absolute packer room full of raw energy, awesome, ice pack out this morning! I did'nt get to hear / dance to Johnny on the Spot, but Ted played 'I Never Knew ' by Bad weather Inc, you don't hear that often . You know its a strange scene when Leon Haywoods 'Baby Reconsider 'virtually clears the floor ! !Still Sounding Brilliant by the way Chalky. Thanks to everyone involved for making it another memorable occasion , hope you raised a good amount on the raffle , I forgot to check if my bleddy tickets ! Koko x

  7. Interesting love a Sunday all dayer ,memories of Nottingham Palais back in the 70tys.
Brilliant & true Northern Soul , Cracking venue full of Cracking people, dj's & tunes to die for , run by soulies for the love of the music , not their bank account , the two young ladies on the bar were brill too . Try it if you're fed up with the same old same old , those of you that came down Trent side to Mick H 's do's twenty odd years ago need to get your arse down here again , koko x

  13. So , less than a week to go , Mal was asked to do a Sunday here at Creepers yaks ago , tell it as it is, we had a few visits to a certain club in Manchester & Mal & I were inspired, respect &' love to everyone that runs soul events in Nottingham, its a great scene This is how it is, Sunday Creepers is not 100 mile per hour northern , Nor is it a chill out event , It's not a rare event either , Bit of all that , but mostly a celebration of 60tys soul , mod culture, juke box cafe culture , but mostly a celebration of still being here alive and kicking, living the life we love as long as we can , see you there , gonna be one hell of a weekend! You know what else is on , & ive got to try & fit a Forest match in anorl , koko !!!

Very rare now days to find an atmosphere like I experienced yesterday, when I entered upstairs room at 3 30 ish it was already rocking , thought it would be a slow start . Down in the basement where I go , was a bit slower , but its like taking a deep breath before a plunge, goodness me , blimey it was jumping, vibrating , rocking , friendly , funny at times , you can't help but laugh you know you're part of something special Hope trains are running next month I want to do it all again thank you please . KOKO.
