  1. The only one I got wrong was the Diana Ross founded the Supremes one, and I think that's a bad question. She was an original member of the group and she may not have been THE founder, I would still consider her a founder... She was there before they were even the Supremes...
  2. Any Jobete acetates or Motown acetates. PM me please. Thanks, Thomas
  3. Or does anyone know who bought it? John Manships Auction Results 20-3-2013 Marvelettes One Kiss Led To Another Motown and girl group collectors this 10” studio acetate is a one-of-a-kind unissued Motown session by one of the label’s most-loved groups. master # DM 042105 never reached vinyl most likely recorded circa 1963 Not the Coasters song from 1956 but strong new Marv Johnson composition showcasing a soulful young-girl Motown stroller with Gladys Horton’s lovelorn vocal leading proceedings. With the Funk Brothers adding depth - possibly Marvin Gaye & Benny Benjamin on Drums, certainly James Jamerson on his instantly recognizable Bass Guitar, Richard “Popcorn” Wylie on Piano, Eddie “Bongo” Brown providing subtle bongo rhythm and a rather classy under-stated baritone sax pumping away with timely prompts could well be Mike Terry. The harmony background vocals from we presume Wanda Young, Georgeanna Tillman, Wyanetta (“Juanita”) Cowart & Katherine Anderson bring together a beautifully constructed Hitsville session - that for whatever reason this stunning array of talent failed to get a release. Before you today is the actual acetate from the session a genuine MOTOWN STUDIO cut crediting the session with H-467 mix dub # 1428 Remember this is UNIQUE not another copy known to exist! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 88.00 If so, could you please message me or reply to this thread. Thanks.
  4. Male: Bobby Taylor Female: Tammi Terrell, Kim Weston.
  5. I found it, with about 20 others, clearing out my Father's attic. He said he got them from a friend of his who worked for the company and got them out of the Donovan building. So are there no other known ones? That was my main question here. I don't really care what it's worth since I'm not getting rid of it, but I'm 95% sure its genuine considering the source and the others with it. I'll see what I can do in regards to a scan/picture.. Don't have an iPhone so can't do that method.
  6. I'm unable to do scans. Don't plan on selling it anyway, just curious if there are others.
  7. I've got a 7inch "Jobete Music Company Inc" acetate of Marvin Gaye's "This Love Starved Heart of Mine." How much is this worth? Are there other copies of it? I know it's been a big, well known track, but haven't heard of another acetate... Anyone seen one?
  8. Please Pm me if you have any Motown or Jobete acetates that you are willing to sell. Thanks, Thomas
  9. I bought a record on ebay and when I tried to pay, it said that his paypal account couldn't accept the payment at that time. I tried messaging him and emailing him about 10 times. No response. I ended up getting a non-paid item case opened against me and I still couldn't pay. I planned on appealing it, but since it was my first time not paying, ebay canceled it as a one time thing. So I lost my one time 'free strike' because of it.
  10. PM me with an offer for any or all that you would like to buy. Paypal only; Will ship from the US, not sure of cost. I will mark it as a 'gift' to avoid customs and tax charges. If you have any questions or need a sound clip, just message me. I'll see what I can do. Brian Holland - "I'm So Glad" b/w blank - H.D.H Productions/Invictus 10 Inch Acetate - VG+/VG++ (Different cut with middle part edited out) Just Brothers - "You've Got The Love To Make Me Over" b/w blank - H.D.H/Music Merchant 10 Inch Acetate - VG/VG+ (Note, on one of my players the very end of this skips once but on all my others it is perfectly fine. I'm confident that it won't on your player but it's possible it will, so be aware of that. I don't believe this is a different take, though it is a bit longer than the released version and may have a different ending) Chairmen of the Board - "Chairmen of the Board" b/w same (no label) - H.D.H/Invictus 10 Inch Acetate - VG/VG+ both sides (Same take as released, but in Mono, not Stereo like the singles) Isley Brothers - "Keep On Doin'" b/w blank - T-Neck Records 7 Inch Acetate - VG/VG+ (Same take as released; I've never seen a T-Neck acetate before, I believe this is pretty rare)
  11. Yes, some of it has been put up on youtube. The Marvin Gaye was included on "The Real Thing..." dvd, and the Jackson 5's was released on something, but there are a lot of performances that were left out. I also think Marvin Gaye did more songs, but the only two shown are the two you mentioned. Plus there were numerous cameras and angles, and I'd love to see Jamerson more than the little he is shown on the dvd. One of the cameras probably focused on him during the entire performance of Marvin's. What an amazing thing that'd be to see.
  12. It may have happened in '72 but they aired a documentary in theaters in '73 never released on tape or dvd to my understanding.
  13. US; Jerry Butler, Sammy Davis, Temptations, Roberta Flack, Isaac Hayes, Jackson 5, Gladys Knight & the Pips, Curtis Mayfield, Wilson Pickett, Bill Withers, Marvin Gaye (with Funk Brothers, Earl Van Dyke, Eddie 'Bongo' Brown, Dan Turner (I believe), and James Jamerson), and a few others I can't remember.
  14. Does anyone have a copy of this footage of the concert? Or has anyone seen it in full?
  15. VG copy of a very rare, very nice Isley Brothers - "Keep On Doin'" T-Neck Records acetate. PM with offers. This is the only T-Neck Records acetate I've ever seen. I believe this is the same take as released, but not 100% sure. This needs to go fast to help pay for a want. Soundclip and scan available upon request. Thomas
  16. Looking for any Jobete/Motown acetates and also Frances Nero - Keep On Loving Me b/w Fight Fire With Fire on Soul. PM me please. Thanks. Thomas

  18. Could I see a picture of the E.V.D acetate label?
  19. Price depends upon track/artist/condition/etc. If anyone has any acetates from these labels for sale, I would really like to buy. Mostly looking for Jobete Music Co. labels. Message me, or email me at: tsiemering@comcast.net I am in the United States, so if you can't ship here, then don't bother. Thanks, Thomas
  20. What were you thinking of selling the acetate for? I am definitely interested, but my funds are limited at the time. Could I see some pictures of it? Thanks.
