  1. Everyone wants /hopes the records turn up and undoubtedly it's a shithouse thing to do .....but look at the POSITIVE thing ....Steve Smith whoever you are, offering to give some of your few remaining tunes to help !!!!!! You sir, are the type of guy that keeps this scene going ....and countless other good people like you ...not the thieving underhand twats !!!
  2. Thats a great shame......got my hopes up there...Steve Googan is a brilliant dancer!!!Must be a different guy .??
  3. Thanks for that Benji ....but does anyone know about the legality of the pressing ...ie would it be frowned upon if i spun it on a night out ???
  4. Can anyone shed any light on this single on Noriega Debra Johnson To get Love you got to bring love ....i know it is one of The 100 club or Kent singles as it was un- released but does anyone have any definite info on the Noriega release as it seems to make decent money when sold ( on ebay anyway ) Thanks.
  5. Didnt /don't know about this part of the tower event ...anyone elaborate??? Tunes like this might encourage me to turn up to the event again ?? Nige....i notice you didn't play Charles Spurling .......yes it's me the guy that never gets to hear it !!!
  6. Spot on with those but DANCEFLOORS...shite ones can ruin a weekend no matter how good the DJ's are.
  7. Paid around £20 for a nice copy last year ....not off ebay.
  8. So thats any venue where they burned the chairs last winter!!!Or when your Chalfonts are playing up!!!
  9. One of my favourite NITERS is the Polish Club(Club Polonia Great Lever )....been goin since it started.....its more like a party due to the size so if you want a massive venue you will be let down...but to mention another topic at the same time i think everyone is made to feel welcome there( Even Anton and Trickster !!) The djs can and do play what they want ....without fear of a bollocking ....requests always taken on board. To me it's one of those places where the venue itself is part of the night .(please don't jump down my throat...this is my opinion ..not an advert ) Dancefloor spot on.......theres even a stairlift!!!!
  10. Don't want to keep on with it but the point was.....in my opinion that track is RnB no matter who played it first or looked over someones shoulder (or didn't ).I don't class it as Northern even though its popular many different nights....Personally i'm not arsed which bracket it goes in as i'm happy to hear different styles and dance to them on a night out
  11. I was referring more to the choice of track to emphasise the point being made here ....wasn't aware anything had been made up at that point . sorry if you had a bad day !!
  12. Well said...thought about this tune on reading this thread this morning. A certain Mr Taylor plays this quite often in his sets much to my delight!! Also much to the delight apparently, of many "Northern only" fans who can't stand RnB !!??
  13. You Jammy bastard ........bought many unknown (to my limited self) tunes...tagged them on to some i knew but was paying postage so thought what the heck.......still wracking my brains ...but no they were all SHITE.....well done However did buy a tune on the advice of a friend a few weeks ago not knowing it....only to get home and play it to be told "Oh no that's not the one i thought it was " Bloody love it ....James Kelly Duhon "Pusher Man"........Thanks Sid.....every faith in you pal !!!!
  14. Just ticking the like box is not enough for this comment....summed it up in my opinion.....the tune on the record is what was recorded...when it left the studio that was the finished product ...don't try to make it something else !
  15. Phil dont post anything else for a while ...I'm filling up .....looking forward to hearing lots more "new" (TO ME ANYWAY ) stuff ...as i do nearly everytime i go out (and no i'm not 11 )
  16. Had the option of going out tonight but nothing too inspiring to tempt me ...but Tom Dick and Harry can do a brilliant job if they use their imagintion !!I think you have to choose the venue where you will hear the tunes you want to .......They are out there but may take more than ten minutes of walking.
  17. DIED!???? Not too sure on exhumation laws relating to hamsters but this sounds suspect me !!
  18. Never had too much trust in my fellow man .........cause he lies with his lips and then hurts with his hands. Not like me to choose a negative but good lyrics! Wrong Man Tony Clarke
  19. Spot on with the "upper limit"...it does creep up as you go on ...in my limited experience anyway ....then you star justifying it to yourself with bullshit "I'll not buy one for another few weeks " which of course you promptly forget as soon as you see your next want !!!
  20. Great when they turn up ....but i am running out of places to hide the empty mailers.....theyre too stiff for origami.....not stiff enough for plates ........answers on a carboard mailer please to the usual address.....wait a minute ...i might have it !!!!
  21. Only started collecting in the last 18 months....if anyone had said i would spend time buying records instead of dancing to them i would have laughed them out of the building!!! Talk about addictive !!!I am on a very restricted budget and to be honest most of my purchases are from ebay....and there is the dangerous part ...you dont feel the money disappearing until you get the monthly bank statement and s/*t yourself......However on a plus side you do get to hear so many great tunes you dont hear out .....Anyway thats all from me .....keep your eyes out for me in a skip near you soon !!!!
