    A big thanks goes out to all the contributions to my thread,I'm not so out of touch as I thought. So many great Joe Simon tracks out there!and one that I didn't know: We're Together from 1981; great tune.Two tunes that I do have are Momma's Gone -Little"Johnny Blair ( which gets a mention in Tim Browns book The Wigan Casino Years) and :Bobby Wells-Be's That Way Sometimes. Which I think is better than : Let's Copp A Groove. Finally !What can you say about :Gene Toones;; One word BRILLIANT. Ps WHEN by JOE SIMON is my favourite song of his. Keep Soulin . ROD

Very good point Matt but not everyone can do niters, the idea was to see what people rate themselves i:e as not heard before or just not played for a long time and should be. when I've put alldayers on I'm always happy when a Dj puts a track I have to think about. I'm never to old to learn. Thanks mate Rod.

    Just thinking what sounds would you play to spice up a set away from the norm. My lad played TRAVELING MAN by JOE SIMON at Blackpool Tower in November on the Sunday, When down a STORM. Lot of People didn't no it. Must be so many out there. Thanks and MERRY XMAS. ROD

Thanks for that Pete, agree with similarity with Mitch Ryder.I read somewhere that in a interview with Bruce Springsteen he had said that Mitch Ryder was his inspiration with the Detroit Garage scene. Going back to off putting title's what about ALL THE DUDES WHERE DANCING BY THE MOB Again ,not a bad record ? It's a 70s thing. Rod

    I like a record called HEAVY MUSIC by BOB SEGAR AND THE LAST HEARD. Played it out a few times to a good reception from the crowd, been told it was played at casino early 70s. This raw type of northern soul seems to be in demand to date. Soulies can't believe it when you say Title and Artist. I like it anyway. Any more out there. Rod

    I've played out Dancing to the music a few times! Response has always been good, but a lot didn't know it (could be because of Florida label) Myself I think it's one of the best. Rod

    . Kev, I can remember in the early 2000 Archie Bell & Drells where due to play at the Cala Gran, Fleetwood. Like you said and we were told it was down to the American Tax men taken his passport from him. I was very disappointed to say the least. Funny thing is !     Hi Kev,well done again for securing an interview with such a huge legend as Frankie Valli. Don't laugh anyone, but one of my pride in my record collection is a white smash demo of You're ready now, what a feel good tune and cheap as chips. one of his records that always comes to mind is Can't take my eyes off you from the film Deer Hunter where there playing pool.
