Ok tks everybody who's replied so far. I didn't think I was that out of touch, and I'm sorry the other person took offence at my reply of "are you taking the pi$$" - but i did also suggest they may just be mistaken.....anyway no more to say other than....so who,s got one for me?? :-)

Ok I posted a "wants" up for this a few weeks ago. From memory of seeing copies sold on lists over the last couple of years and after doing some checking on popsike etc, I reckoned I'd be paying 250 - 300 quid depending on condition. I got an offer of a minter at 600 quid and so I (politely) asked if the person was confusing pounds with dollars, or were they taking the pi$$. The person replied with some umbrage, basically telling me that this record recently sold for over 500 quid, they'd been on the scene for 40yrs (so have I !), they were "big collectors" (so am I, I think ), and that their mates, also 40yrs on the scene, had confirmed that it was me who was taking the piss by offering 250 quid. I'd be interested to hear comments from anybody who's bought or sold one in last few months, or from any dealers on what they would list this at ? cheers, Denny

Plenty of radio soul shows in Australia that broadcast on the 'net - some archive the shows so that you can "Listen again" later. You could do worse than listen to Eastside FM broadcasting from Sydney on Friday's - starting at 6.30pm local time which means most poms are either at work........or just getting up ! (9.30am British Summer Time) You can listen at https://eastsidefm.org/ The Friday soul sessions are hosted by Austria's very own Bernhard Schmitz for the first 2 hours followed by George "OO soul" for the second 2 hours. Have we got cross threads here ? "Tar and Cement" is the flip to "Piece of the sky" by Verdelle Smith - still to be found on Aussie purple Capitol in record shops down here. The Lou Rawls "Dead end street" on Aussie purple Capitol has dried up a bit. It's flip is the same as on the US release.
