For my money, I`ve read quite a few books on the Northern Soul scene and have to admit the ones written from a personal perspective all seem to follow a well worn path - first time they discovered the music, first trip to an Allnighter, taking speed, eventful journeys crossing half the country etc.
As others have said I`d love to read about the music from the perspective of folks like John Anderson, Richard Searling, Ian Levine etc. who were at the real coal face - discovering sounds, being at the right place at the right time, ones that got away, breaking certain records etc.
