  1. I think there is always room for a bit of "Cargo", a lot of the tracks are actually both funky and soulful.
  2. I also remember a Tim Brown quote along the lines of "the best records always clear the dancefloor anyway" written in the context of not minding dj'ing to an empty floor. The fact that you WIN an auction also appeals to some people aswell I reckon.
  3. thanks for that, I'll keep my eyes out for it. Ordered the Brent Laurence / Latrice Bennet from Juno yesterday
  4. Rob any idea when the Blaze Artists for life project might get full release ? Maybe it has and I've missed it, any idea.
  5. PhutureSole put out consistent quality, Fly is most recent release but also check out Stacey Mallory-People of the World, only been 5 releases to date on the label (i think). Imagine if we were sat here 30 / 40 years ago saying 'oh yeah that shrine label is ok, i've got all 5 so far!!' (obviously not on the internet but you know what I mean) I just heard a track Brent Laurence feat Latrice Bennett--build it back up..... that really got me going, not sure how new it is. Totally agree, Dimitri from Paris/Omar--Strong Man is a tune. These are tomorrows monsters!
  6. Paulie, good shout on the Rasmus Faber also check out Never Felt So Fly which you probably already know. John Lucas feat Tylene- Join Me on Purple Music is currently doing it for me along with Lynette Smith -Everything Must Change (slaag) Big Moses /Kenny Bobien-You belong to me (big moe) various Stephanie Cooke cuts dj oji & carolyn victorian-he's my dy (king street) odd(ish) but great!
  7. first catalogue I had off Richard Domar was at Leicester Oddfellows in about 1984 or so, it was great. Still is great when his annual catalogue arrives. I have kept lots of old lists from all kinds of places, they are great reading on the pan. Remember though.'if ifs and ands were pots and pans there'd be no need for tinkers'. makes me realise that if there something you want or even might want at a price that suits buy it, especially on new releases.
  8. Think it has definitely altered buying records, it seems quite old fashioned these days to write a cheque, send it off and wait for the vinyl to arrive. It's quicker and easier and more expensive now (is that due to the internet?). One thing wo'nt alter with fanzines though, a lot of folk 'collect' them and will always want the real thing in their hands. i'm not sure if any old web pages are fetching money on ebay yet.
