    Is anybody on here from Sutton Coldfield / Birmingham area? Are you in any community/buy & sell type of groups on Facebook, can you share the picture from the doorbell camera into them groups? We need to get this image out to the wider world and not just the soul scene. Might be worth doing Nottingham groups too?

    After the great success of our first event - along with all the positive comments... We have been invited by back the club on Friday 31st March for our second instalment of Wigan [Not So Young] Souls. Guest DJ for this night is Tom Dacey (Co-promoter of The Funk Institute, Burnley). If you missed the first one, you missed a superb night! We had lots of long distance travellers which used our night as a stop off point before travelling onto Saturday gigs the day after. Real energetic dance floor, superb sound system... and I know you hear that often 'Top Sound System' blah blah blah... but really... we do boast on having a great high-fidelity system to really get into the spirit of the night! Roll on Friday 31st March...

    For those arriving tomorrow evening for our first soul night at Whelley Ex Servicemen's club. Please can we ask that you use this entrance which leads you directly into the function room, instead of going through the 'members lounge'. Kicks off at 7.00pm it's looking like it will be a busy night.

    Thank you!!! To everybody who has shared their Lowton Civic Hall photographs throughout the years. It has helped to create this great collage of images! Although this might be hard to view on a computer screen/phone - I'm organising a large print to be on show for the The Spirit of Lowton - Anniversary Special @ Culcheth. In the meantime, keep your images, memories and sounds coming! We hope you can make it along for a great night on Saturday 4th February 8pm until 2am! Note: this anniversary special will go on until 2am!

    ONLY 8 DAYS TO GO UNTIL OUR SPECIAL GET TOGETHER! Everything is now in place for a really memorable night! Equipment Is tested and ready to go (along with the spares!), records are organised and packed, Graeme Hassall our first guest DJ is confirmed along with our residents Jake Rigby & Charles. The club has also confirmed that they are ready to go! We just need your backing now Let's get the buzz back! Let's be having ya!

    In preparation for our 'Spirit of Lowton' anniversary special - we would love to see any old photographs of The Lowton Civic Hall years... You can also share your favourite memories and post up any requests for the DJs in preparation for the Lowton anniversary special at Culcheth! It's going to be a great night.

    To answer a few questions: How close is the venue to Wigan Town Centre? The venue is 6 minutes drive from Wigan Wallgate and North Western Train stations (Both train stations are opposite each other and located in Wigan Town Centre). The taxi rank is directly opposite the North Western Station. Where is the closest hotel? The closest hotel is Premier Inn (Wigan Town Centre) which again is a few minutes drive in a taxi or if you fancy a walk, it will take around 10 minutes. There is another hotel in Wigan at The Swan & Railway... Although these rooms seem to be more expensive than the Premier Inn. Hope you can join us on Friday 20th January.
