After the great success of our first event - along with all the positive comments... We have been invited by back the club on Friday 31st March for our second instalment of Wigan [Not So Young] Souls. Guest DJ for this night is Tom Dacey (Co-promoter of The Funk Institute, Burnley). 

If you missed the first one, you missed a superb night!

We had lots of long distance travellers which used our night as a stop off point before travelling onto Saturday gigs the day after.

Real energetic dance floor, superb sound system... and I know you hear that often 'Top Sound System' blah blah blah... but really... we do boast on having a great high-fidelity system to really get into the spirit of the night! 

Roll on Friday 31st March...

For those arriving tomorrow evening for our first soul night at Whelley Ex Servicemen's club. Please can we ask that you use this entrance which leads you directly into the function room, instead of going through the 'members lounge'.

Kicks off at 7.00pm it's looking like it will be a busy night.

Although this might be hard to view on a computer screen/phone - I'm organising a large print to be on show for the The Spirit of Lowton - Anniversary Special @ Culcheth.

Hi Jordan Here's a couple of anniversary items that I kept from back in the day,both are well worn,in fact I'm amazed I still have them, one was a freebie for the 5th anniversary and the other one was The Usual Suspects T for the 7th anniversary. The 3rd T shirt is the mega rare St Helen's Rugby Club, Saints Anniversary T. That venue definitely deserves a revival special. I can't put my hands on the complimentary CD's & vinyl at the moment.

To answer a few questions:

How close is the venue to Wigan Town Centre?

The venue is 6 minutes drive from Wigan Wallgate and North Western Train stations (Both train stations are opposite each other and located in Wigan Town Centre). The taxi rank is directly opposite the North Western Station.

Where is the closest hotel?

The closest hotel is Premier Inn (Wigan Town Centre) which again is a few minutes drive in a taxi or if you fancy a walk, it will take around 10 minutes. There is another hotel in Wigan at The Swan & Railway... Although these rooms seem to be more expensive than the Premier Inn.

We're all ready to go! Nothing beats an early sound check... Sound system is sounding really superb for our first event. Hope you can join us!! 

We are nearly in December! It won't be long until our first night at Whelley Ex Servicemen's club. Very excited to be back together with the old gang!
