  2. Ian, mine was £1 on Leeds market 1982ish......it also must be a real holy grail as it has the b side labels on both sides...
  3. I was expecting the Sue Ann Jones to go for bigger money...
  4. Yes Pete, but that one is advertised as DLUKE Browner...that's gotta make it super rare
  5. Robb, it's a vinyl pressing....not bad quality... scratched into runout groove there's "101/B " "&" "STM4757 1"............"101/A" "&" "STM4758 1" the label does quite clearly state "STEREO" but to my cloth ears its not really obvious..... the 45 is quite thin...like a UK Polydor press..... Does that narrow it down? Best regards Steve
  6. What do you want to know? Sorry but I can't really tell you too much. Googled it a few times...only really came up with the same Ebay ad with 1 for sale at $1m.......or something daft like that Vaguely Carolinas/College band type sound....or think Joe E Young & Toniks but not with West Indian accents..... "Ain't too proud to beg" is a more than passable version.....bit "moddy ", cool, groovy and funky....I do like it...but there's no accounting for my tastes.... its been into and out of my playbox several times over the years....to no real audience reaction..... "Under the boardwalk" quite latin/new york/ good drifters pastiche...but vocals sound "white"...strained... both sides are well recorded...guitars/sax/brass/organ/drums/lead vocal..... had my copy over 20 years....cant remember if I bought it in States or traded it with Phil Dick after one of his visits..... is it rare? probably........what's it worth?...well I would say more than what you really wanna pay...... I will see if I can load up a sound file....unless someone else wants to be kind. If you find out more then please let me know.. Best regards Steve

  10. nah, the guy is doing it right....mucho kudos to his single-mindedness....I admire people like this as they make me appear outwardly normal...big respect. interesting article which was sympathetically written. the only downside was that I was 2 years late for the competition at the foot of the article...probably about right for my time-keeping!

  17. Hi Neil, if that's the case why did not they release? Gone bust before planned release or cancelled through lack of interest? Did it make it past acetate to test press? Best regards Steve
  18. In the early 80s I bought an almost complete set of Motown Oriole and Stateside releases. These came from a guy that had been in the navy from school (1962-63 from memory). At the point I knew him he was collecting Todd Rungren material. However as a youth he had an order at (I think) the local Woolworths for any Motown releases. Can't recall how he was an early fan of the us labels. As he was away for spells it was the only way he could ensure getting what he wanted upon his return to home. No lps or eps though.
  19. Stevie Wonder Stevie Wonder 6 in this highly coveted British Tamla Motown EP series. This example is certainly one those annoying elusive releases. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 75.00 Is this the only 45 release for the studio version of "Fingertips"?

Cheers Gents, thank you for all the replies and thoughts. Got me confused. See attached pic of 45....it does not really show the run-out clearly, but scratched in is "C-1950" "MR" Delta "79086" Styrene. Very good printing on label. So the thought is its a Monarch press, West coast issue, original, from what 1970 or 1969? To be honest I am not really bothered if its right or not...having slept and now played it loud, I am not going to get shut. Would be nice to be sure. Best regards Steve

Thank you.. the label does state "from Canyon LP"...both sides There is a stamped circular MR in the run out The print is pretty good. The circles in the Canyon logo are very well reproduced.
