  4. Hi Brett, Thanks for your very very kind words its much appreciated and Phyllis and Eddie as well. I really enjoyed playing the records and although I was pretty nervous before the show you soon relax and its like playing records to your mates in the living room. We are going to arrange another show at some time and I will let you know when. Look forward to seeing you at the Web next week, Keith
  5. Thanks Rob Looking forward to Saturday as we have trying to arrange it for ages. Hope some of you will listen, Keith
  6. As Eddie says and in my opinion too one of the greatest records of all time. Anybody who say him sing this and all the others at either the 100 Club or at Great Yarmouth where I say him will never forget it. Saturday afternoon at Great Yarmouth and Ian Clark was D.Jing when he says "We are in for a real treat tonight as we have the great Ray Pollard on" and he points at me. I think who is he talking about so I turn round and there is this little old man standing behind me completely dressed in denim including a denim cap. All the pictures that I had seen of Ray were either with the Wanderers or of him on his own but they were all as a young man so I didnt recognise him. I then say the obvious "Are you Ray Pollard" in total awe and he says "yes" so I get the autograph book out and luckily Sandra had her camera in her bag for just such an occasion, and I got a brilliant picture of me with my arm around him signing my book. Once I statred getting the my picture taken some other people asked who it was and when I told them it was like a stampeded to get his autograph and picture. Absolutely brilliant for Ray as you could see how much he enjoyed it. When he came on stage at night dressed with his Tuxedo on he looked every inch the star that he should have been and put on a brilliant show. Best Keith
  7. So very sorry to hear the terrible news about Sylvia on Saturday, Our thoughts are with you and the family Ady at this sad time. Keith & Sandra Money
  8. Terrible news about about the 100 club but I know that for Ady and the rest of the guys this will be a challenge that they will overcome with even greater success in the future. Unfortunately we all have memories of great Soul nights around the country (Not just the big venues) that have closed for various reasons and its usually a big mistake by the owners of the clubs who always think wrongly thats it is only about money. Sometimes the owners come back to you when they realise they have made a mistake but a lot of the time its too late as the soul punters have moved on to other venues. After the lenghth of time that Ady has been loyal to the 100 club they should have at least honoured the dates for 2007 but I guess honour and loyalty are two words they wouldnt understand. As somebody else has said its all about the music and the people on the scene and not the bricks and mortar so we will all still be attending 60's Rhythm & Soul nights in London for many years to come. As Ady said at last years anniversary roll on 50. I was always delighted when Ady asked me to D.J. and always will be extremely honoured to have played a small part in making the past nights good and the future nights hopefully something special. Still is and always will be my favourite venue no matter what building its in!! Look forward to seeing you all soon Keith
  9. A fantastic tune which I first heard played by Tim Brown on a "Rare Soul" radio show at the first Cala Gran weekender in Blackpool, I eventually managed to get a copy and have played it out at a few times (It went down well at the Greatstone I remember) a lot of his tunes are definately worth looking out for. Keith
  10. "Aware Of Love" definately came out on EEE as the B side to one of the two issues of "Just Crazy About You Baby" and I also played it at the Greatstone but on the 7" single and not the LP. The Embers LP that "Aware" is on is called "Burn You A New One" which I think came out in 1967. I also have the Jerry Butler version of "Aware Of Love" on a Vee Jay artrist of the week 6 record pack promoting his album "Jerry Butler ESQ". These 7" singles all play at 33 1/3 and also included in the pack are the unused Juke box strips and a great picture of Jerry looking pretty cool. As for the best version I have played them both in various spots over the years but for me the Embers just wins by a nose. Hope this helps Keith
  11. As asked for from Ian here is my playlist from the 100 Club in no particular order and including lots of requests. If your wondering how I managed to play so many records in two 30 minute spots its because Mick got a little confused about when he had to go back on so I had to play a few more tunes. I am also very honoured to have been asked to be resident and I am really looking forward to playing at the 100 club on a regular basis, and hopefully the people who attend will enjoy it too. Bob and Fred "Ill be on My Way" Flash McKinley "Ill Rescue you" Delites "Lover" Papa Bear & the Cubs "Youre So Fine" Nomads "Somethings Bad" Spiedels "Dream Girl" Deon Jackson "Someday the Sun Will Shine" Soul Incorprated "My Proposal" Lost Souls "Secret of Mine" Fifth Avenue Band "One Way Or The Other" Mark Lloyd "When Im Gonna Find Her" Karmello Brooks "Tell Me Baby" Chris Bartley "My Heart Belongs To You" Ray and The Blue Satins "She Does'nt Love Me" (The old Carl Hall cover up) Mel Brit "She'll Come Running Back" Spartans "I Dont Need another Lover" Phonetics "Just A boys Dream" Ellusions "You Didnt Have To Leave" Bill Bush "Im Waiting" Don Hysong "Soul Searcher" Four Perfections "Im Not Strong Enough" Al Williams "Try Them" Frankie Beverley "Because Of My Heart" The Caesars "(La La) I love you" Bobby Kline "Say Something Nice to Me" Lewis Clark "I Need Your Lovin So Bad" Seven Souls "I Still Love You" Ambassadors "Too Much Of A Good Thing" Regards Keith
