1972..a Live Recording From The Torch
Exactly what I thought, saw my first cassette recorder about '71 I think.....but it wasn't a portable one. Had a quick google of the history of the cassette and apparently it was Phillips who brought them out in 1962!! There's not much background noise on the tape....could it have been done through the house system?

Kings Hall Vid?
Genuine question.....are these clips representative of the alternative niters that anti-nostalgia folk (who have commented above) prefer ? Lifeline...... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXaZOqdZPao 100 Club...... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyAp5lO0mN4

Wigan Casino 500Th All-Nighter
yeah seen something on YT about a guy who got the sign......had it planted on his lawn Mt Lee Santa Monica style Remember coaxing a couple of my mates, Chaddy & Bry Millard, back to the Casino for the Oldies 5th anniversary, they hadn't been for 3 or 4 years. Bryan had just got a big shiny white Triumph Stag so we larged it and went in that. The "Big Time" entrance was marred slightly when Bryan reversed into a bollard and bent the back bumper on the way there......how he laughed

Of course.....Bird Cage was Ashton Tiff's.....went to some good dayers there. Can't remember the name of the club in Duckinfield for the life of me.....don't think it was the Moon though.

Venues When And Where
Sure KR also did Sale......but I wasn't a regular and maybe he was filling in when I went? There was another club in Duckinfield...........can't remember its name......Bird Cage?...............and remember Billy Paul (and his mate Rob?) from that end used to do the odd spot in M's.

Not Heard For Ages - Records That Just Pop Into Your Head
Oh God I hate that tune (Get Lucky) it's just so utterly sh*te, the lyrics must have been written by a 10 year old but it has that terrible way of sticking in your mind My young 'un loves it and puts it on her i-pod as soon as she gets in the car with me. A couple of weeks ago, she agreed to go to the pictures with one of the lads from her class but on an "only friends" basis, he sent her "Get Lucky" in a message on the day of the outing and so all her mates have been ribbing her that it was actually a date......think she's enjoying the attention and that the tune now has a meaning for her.
