I only ordered one 45, on 6 Jan. I rang them yesterday to check on progress and the lady printed my order sheet there and then and handed it to John to find the 45. After the time lapse I fully expected it to be out of stock but the record arrived this morning in perfect condition. If your still waiting ringing may be way forward.

I have seen the (2018 ish) UK Deep Soul issue described as being a previously unissued cut. I've seen red Volt copies sell for decent money and on one occasion this was described as an unofficial release. Can anyone shed any light on whether the Volt copies are original and whether this was booted. Also is there a black and white demo too.

So sad to hear of the passing of Lamont Dozier. To me he was a true genius. Life will feel a little more empty without him. Lamont was not just a writer, he was such a brilliant artist in his own right. Listen to the lyrics of can't get off until the feeling stops, it's simply beautiful poetry set to music. I will always regret not having the opportunity to see him perform live.

Great article and insight into a store which I will always remember with great fondness. I can still remember, as a schoolboy, ringing the bell and waiting to be let in, felt like we were intruding into some kind of secret society. Always loved visiting Global, I just wish I'd had more knowledge of what I was looking for. Probably missed so many buying opportunities. -

Remember Gloria Jones playing live, Superstar Mark Bolan was playing drums. I remember him, just before the concert, sat at the drums on stage playing along to northern tunes played by the DJ. He seemed to be enjoying the atmosphere.
