  9. I agree 'I believed' is definitely based on Gloria Scott...............although nowhere near as good imho by about a million miles! Since i first heard it played out I've often dug it out with a view to playing it out BUT put it back everytime cos it's just NOT got 'it' Another couple of things in the case about it sounding similar is- 1) It's on the same label (Casablanca) albeit 5 years later & 2) There's another track that is on the Alma Faye LP that is a dead ringer for 'That's what you say'........although it's pretty good (best track on the AF LP imho) it's not quite as good by about 25 miles! And I know I'm teaching some folks to suck eggs here but 'That's what you say' is another phenomenal track from the Gloria Scott LP So someone must have had the Gloria Scott LP to hand when they were recording the AF LP? As it didn't get a US 45 or 12" release it does make the UK 45 & 12" of value to collectors..............but gimme Gloria Scott anytime, however many times it gets over-played!!!! Anyway, that's my tuppence worth Cheers Steve
  10. He did indeed play it at the 'last' Orwell Alan btw It was me who bought the shagged Scream 45 (that someone above mentioned?) from Sam a while ago! The 'Silly' side is well marked but plays great with the odd pop or three BUT the other funkier side is completely and utterly fooked! Looks like someone used this side as a base to saw a load of wood on, as there are deep cuts all over it! Thankfully 'Silly kind of love' is playable, so I'm happy to have this until a better copy comes along Cheers Steve
  11. I have STILL not got a fooking clue what's going on BUT this thread is STILL great
  12. I have not got a fooking clue what's going on BUT this thread is great
  13. Gulp! That's me told then https://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php...rice&thumbs= Didn't realise so many had been on the bay! 15 x 45's at between $200 to $700 at an average of $360 (£250) 4 x 12" at between $210 to $250 at an average of $230 (£150) There's a scan of the 12" up there Nick too I'll edit me first post then it doesn't mislead anyone! Cheers Steve
  14. From a collection circa '71/'72 (28 in all) inc Joy Lovejoy ORIG US CHECKER!!!
  15. PLUS a couple more FUNK 45's added!
  16. Price is nearer £250 imho and the 12" would be about £150+ even though that's actually rarer I think! (Post amended from original over-estimate of £400/£250 ) The 45 & 12" are the same mix by the way! Hope this helps Cheers Steve
  17. Correct Mark

  22. Hi Andy This is the Grapevine 2000 series not the original 70's releases! (It can be found here www.soulmusic.co.uk/Default.htm ) btw I do have one or two test pressings and a handful of demos of some of the later series for sale. I know i've posted it before BUT here it is again Fascinating Fact - Grapevine 2000 only made Test Pressings of releases 100 to 112 (& strangely enough #153!) Only 14 out of a total of 63 releases! 100-104 are blank labels & 105-112 (& #153) have custom made labels. Cheers Steve
