  1. Oops yes 9 sides (where's that red-faced smilie?) I think I'll pass Mike, happy with me 4 issues mate That's a mad price though! Cheers Steve
  2. Hey John, let Poserman fight his own battles Although in the great man's defence, even if someone did think it was the worse of the 4, that still makes it a fookin good record cos they are all quality 70's dancers and/or ballads that blow many releases from that period out the water!!!!! Talking of double sided white demos on Silver Blue, I'd say you need stock copies of ALL four Invitations 45's!!!! 8 cracking sides (if you count Part 2 of 'Look on the good side) And while I'm on me soap box, what about the intro to 'Living together'..............possibly the best 70's 'strings n things' intro ever???? Pity it goes off into a funky chant after that otherwise I think i'd be a classic to rival 'Look on the good side' (IMHO) Now who was that fella that did a write up on this wonderful label Cheers Steve
  3. Think we have all the info now guys For years I've only ever had the three common Silver Blue releases PLUS the UK Polydor 45 of their fourth! BUT as luck would have it I've just bought meself a loverly Silver Blue issue of 'Love has to grow' so I now (finally) have the Silver Blue set And whoever said 'Love has to grow' was their worst, I have to strongly disagree! I rate it as third out of all their Silver Blue released sides...........and one that would be a great side to slip into a forward thinking 70's set! Cheers Steve ps I now have my UK Polydor copy for sale
  4. Just added over 60 45's to my Northern/Modern/Crossover originals list and it can be viewed at www.soulmusic.co.uk/Northern_Originals_List.htm Worth having a look methinks cos there's lots of good stuff been added for the first time plus I've also reduced the prices on many of the 45's that were already up there! Site update on www.soulmusic.co.uk due next week by the way! Still Twittering too Cheers Steve
  5. Price on this imho is PIR UK orig approx £25 and the Portrait UK 45 & 12" reissue from the 80's approx £15 The LP's approx £15-£20 on US/UK PIR Hope this helps Cheers Steve ps I have a spare of the LP should anyone want it
  6. someone got a bargain on the Thompson Brothers imho! Cheers Steve
  7. Hi there I've a Jacky Beavers on US Dade OR UK Jay Boy at £15 all in PLMK Steve
  8. Hi Steve There seems to be some confusion on which side we're on about here BUT you have made it clear and it's also what I was on about too! I knew the other side got Wigan spins BUT I wasn't aware 'Dream girl' had been played at Stafford! Logically though, it's just too good not to have been played there, that's why i said 'i could be wrong'! Top man for having the foresight to play such a fantastic record Cheers Steve
  9. Fairly sure it was me who sold it to Keith for the 'Dream girl' side back in the late 90's although I could be wrong? I always thought it was Keith who broke it at places like the 100 Club back then, although I could again be wrong? Has had a huge resurgence recently too, I'm not wrong about that! Hope this helps? Cheers Steve
  10. When the first copy (copies!) came in the UK in the late 90's (I think?)............I paid £75 for it as an original...........................rearrange the following words - nailed, style, hat, good, on
  11. Hi Steve I have the El Chicano LP with it on here www.soulmusic.co.uk/LP_List.htm Cheers Steve
  12. That is really sad! My thoughts go out to Clive's family and of course to Ian. RIP Steve
  13. That memory of yours Dave Another Plumby cock up
  14. Hi Dave I used to have them both BUT decided to keep the yellow one and sold the green one.......hope I made the right decision????????? Top double sider Cheers Steve
  15. Don't wanna step on Paul's toes as he replied first BUT I have an excellent condition copy HERE It is a hell of a lot more than Pauls though Cheers Steve
  16. Fantastic tune! I had three copies on Chess and put them on me web site and they sold within minutes!!!!!!!! Cheers Steve
  17. Got to disagree with you there Adam! imho the B side (Say that you love me boy) is superb, as is the A side of course! A terrific double sider! I do think that 'After you give your all' would be a 100% total floor filling anthem by now if it wasn't for the very long first minute or so of the record before it kicks into one of the best 70's dancers ever!!!! Joan - I've also been telling everyone for years that LC is the lead vocalist BUT I'm sure there was a thread on here a couple of years ago saying it wasn't her???? I'm behind you in the queue too Adam, as I too have a W/D for sale at the same price Cheers Steve
  18. Sales updates via Twitter!!!!!!!!! This week I'm running an experiment in which I'm adding a record a day to www.soulmusic.co.uk and informing everyone about that particular record via TWITTER! Should you want to follow me to get a heads-up on these new additions go to www.twitter.com/soulmusic1 and follow me from there! I might need to get me coat after this, as the jury's still out on TWITTER! but we'll see how it goes!!! Cheers Steve
  19. Amen to that
  20. Hi Mike We certainly helped to give it a kick start a few years ago by playing it at The Orwell as a resurrected spin. I think it may have been Dave Ripolles who originally dug it out at one of the all dayers? It has of course been known about for many many years but has only recently come shining through as a killer 70's/Northern dancer! There's still tons of nice priced semi-known 70's items still lurking in boxes waiting for their time in the sun! Talking of the Delfonics, two others by them also worthy of spinning again - that unreleased thing that was reissued on UK Philly Groove called 'You can't get enough' PLUS their LP only version of 'Hurt so bad' which is utterly brilliant imho! Cheers Steve
  21. 'I got to be me' is of course the 'other' side of the magnificent 'Talkin' 'bout poor folks'. It's also a damn fine tune too I have the 'Blues Groove' CD and there's a couple of good tracks on there. Must get round to getting those other 4 including the new one as there must be other good stuff on them!!!! 'Talkin' 'bout poor folks' is a desert island disc for me as it must be for many others on here? Hope he has lots of success with his new CD! Cheers Steve
  22. .........just found out that Woods Empire 'Universal Love' sneaked out on a Tabu 45!!!!! It's usually John Benson that catches me out but this time it was Alan Paterson from Aberdeen (via Bully!) who pointed it out! So the search is now on for the 45! We live and learn! Cheers Steve
  23. Cracking 'LP-Only' track - wonderful dancer and some other great tracks on the LP too! You do see it around occasionally on Original for anywhere between £75-£125 Hope this helps? Cheers Steve
  24. Hi Steve Yes, it's dug back out at Plumb Towers after all these years too! Might play it on Friday if I feel it will fit into the set cos it's not an easy one to get away with that's for sure! Cheers Steve
  25. Sorry Nick, should have said, it's Astroscope. IR 45 should be around but the EM LP is a toughie, although it has been reissued in the last couple of years. The LP is called 'This is Eleanor Mills' and it's crammed full of brill tracks!!!! Cheers Steve
