  1. Now that I agree 100% with Joan Cheers Steve
  2. Cheeky bugger They'd probably be more than a ton from me, as I currently have Ex copies of Mighty Marvelows - Talkin @£25, Lovemasters @£30 and Metros @£25.........................but I agree a bit of nosing around would get them cheaper (cue - someone will now post ebay links to all of them 'buy it now' at a fiver each ) All good fun anyway Cheers Steve
  3. Well my five selections are exactly £50 all Ex and all for sale as of 07/01/2010.................mind you there's £2 postage on it so that takes it to £52
  4. Nearly hundred quids worth there Joan?
  5. ..............and any five from www.soulmusic.co.uk Well if it was OK for you e.g. Dells - Make sure (on virtually everybodys list!!!) Stanley Williams - Count the days (Killer!) Gloria Shannon - Tears (sublime!) Frederick Knight - When it ain't right with my baby (great 70's dancer) Betty Wright - To love and be loved (Great Crossover chugger!) There ya go - bang on £50 Cheers Steve
  6. It is hard to find on 45 Dave! I've heard many a good DJ play this over the years and it's only a matter of time til it crosses over to the dark side and then the 45 will rocket in price! btw I've sold quite a few copies of the LP for this track over the years, plus you get other good tracks too Got one here www.soulmusic.co.uk/LP_List.htm if anyone's interested at £25? Cheers Steve
  7. Think Sutty is being mischievous, as only Sutty can be The copy I have for sale is a third variation too It's the one on the left but it's cover design is in black & white, rather than multi-colored! I think the multi-colored one is the true original though! There has been a thread on this subject before with years of release, variations etc? There was some good info and price guesstimations.....................but no one quoted anywhere near £10 Sutty, you old dog! Cheers Steve
  8. I'll second this one Has been played by those in the know for decades BUT maybe 2010 could see it become a real monster? (Hope so!) Will post some more in the next few days Cheers Steve
  9. Hi All It's now over 9 weeks since the LP was sent, so not looking good I know it's a long shot but I would still ask folks to keep their eyes open for me? If you see one for sale or if anyone gets offered one in the near future (or in the last few weeks even!) please contact me by PM? I'm NOT saying that if you see one or you get offered one it will be my copy but like I said it's a long shot and worth mentioning on here methinks? For the record the one that went on eBay in October went to a collector in Georgia, USA! Cheers Steve
  10. I've a loverly US white demo (the hardest US format) here www.soulmusic.co.uk/Northern_Originals_List.htm Cheers Steve
  11. Got a nice USA Janus 45 for sale if anyone's interested? Great track that was a popular resurrected spin at many a Northern do in the 90's methinks? Cheers Steve
  12. Sorry to piss on your chips Johnnie Boy but MM came out on 45, although Steve Connor is the only guy i have seen with one!!!!!!!!!!! LP is a great version isn't it...................and there are three different versions of the LP too! The strange world of Modern Soul Cheers Steve
  13. Hi Glyn We played this quite a few times at The Orwell (usually early doors to empty dance floors too ) I first heard it at Thorne by Andy Whitmore if I remember? Always been one of those 'one day this will be massive' tunes.....so maybe this time eh? I've sold 5 or 6 copies in the last few years but not had one for a year or so now! Hope you're well mate Cheers Steve
  14. Someone reviewed it sort of uncovered in the last issue of 'Soul up North' too
  15. Mine too! Book and 45 now wrapped up by the missus for me for xmas, so i won't be able to read it or listen to it til the 25th! Cheers Steve
  16. It's not that cheap these days Baz (imho) I have a spare but i have about 10 pints of Stella and a couple of chasers on it! The 'bay and other dealers may yield one cheaper tho but I really rate this 45? Cheers Steve
  17. Seconded Rog Good call though Ian, always been a killer dancer Cheers Steve
  18. Hey Brett Do you mean the 'Gene West' c/u Leave something worthwhile? If so this has been around a few years now? Nice to see it finally coming out if it's the same track as it's awesome crossover! PLMK Cheers Steve
  19. Yes please! Hat waiting but it's moving about a bit at the moment and needs nailing on properly Cheers Steve ps Orig only of course
  20. Oh I wonder who played it?
  21. Thanks for the replies fellas - I've just about everything crossed and hoping it turns up (eventually!) - It wouldn't be so bad if it was summat for resale but it's for me! Mr T I'm fine mate and hope you are too! Looking forward to seeing you and the missus soon! Cheers Steve
  22. Lou Wilson & Today's People Settle down The latest release from Soul Junction. This is an excellent Southern Soul mover which has been recorded this year! Very 'Yarmouth' and sounding similar to Theodis Ealey 'If you leave I'm coming with you' or Roy Roberts 'If you can't put it out don't start the fire' Recommended! Around the corner from love This is another neat Southern Soul mid tempo mover. Similar to the top side although maybe a tad slower. Nice! n.b. Lou Wilson & Today's People were also known as Lou Edwards & Today's People ('Talkin bout poor folks' Columbia 1972)! His vocals are still as good today, have a listen! Soul Junction #505 £10 from www.soulmusic.co.uk Cheers Steve
  23. Hi All It looks like I may have recently lost a record from the US for the first time in a very long time! Sod's Law says that it's happened with a rare one as it's the LP by Richard Paradise (featuring 'Let me stay') I bought it from a reputable dealer and it's now 6 weeks since he sent it. I know there was the postal strike at the time so it is possible it may still turn up? (fingers crossed) I know it's a long shot but I would ask folks to keep their eyes open for me? If you see one for sale or if anyone gets offered one in the near future (or in the last few weeks even!) please contact me by PM? I'm NOT saying that if you see one or you get offered one it will be my copy but like I said it's a long shot and worth mentioning on here methinks? For the record the one that went on eBay in October went to a collector in Georgia, USA! Cheers Steve ps No smart arse 'Paradise Lost' quips either
  24. Peeps A friend of mine (honest I do have one!) is desperate for a 12" vinyl copy of Gabin feat Dee Dee Bridgewater - Into my soul (from 2005) He has deepish pockets so please feel free to nail his hat on and make yourself a few bob in the process (hee hee) Anyone who has a copy for sale please let me know so my mate will stop pestering me? Cheers Steve
  25. Hee Hee This has restored my faith in you Cliff (not that i'd ever lost it in you, it's just a figure of speech!) I knew when someone said the opposite of what you said re Quality of Red/White over Multi, I knew it'd be eating you up and you would JUST have to find the answer out for once and for all! Although I note you haven't gone into decimal places on the run out like Mr Manship does Top marks fella, you didn't let me down btw I have heard this played-out loads over the last few years BUT I think I could handle more multiple plays for a few more months yet despite what Chalky says Cheers Steve
