  1. I've a good copy on the shelves at home Ady and will gladly do it for you tonight How high Res 300dpi OK or do you want it higher? PLMK Steve
  2. I have a Dells BUT it's on the yellow/red 'later' Cadet 70's design! Guess it must qualify as a second issue (as such!) although I think it's possibly rarer than the 'Blue' original Cheers Steve
  3. ..............or maybe Jackie Wilson singing 'I know I'm not in Asda' halfway thru 'I'm the one to do it' This thread could run and run! Steve ps San Fran TKO lyrics...........she does actually sing 'Didn't I give you everything a woman could give' that sort of gives it away
  4. Bill Wright - A man in love (and his handicapped son) Sing that once when it's playing and you'll hear it EVERY time you hear it in the future, especially as the line after it is........................well I'd better not, I feel bad enough typing the first line in Steve
  5. Yeah, that bit gets me too! I sort of cringe til that's over, luckily it's only a few seconds on intro, then the record kicks in and it then becomes the dogs bollocks then I cringe again as it comes back in on the fade out! Should do a thread on records that have really daft intros then kick in into brilliant dancers. Incidently another one by The Steelers suffers a similar fate imho 'Disturbing thoughts' on AMG! Daft intro, killer 70's dancer after that! Cheers Steve
  6. That could be a separate thread on it's own Dave Soul singers with lisps! Think Larry Hancock may well have had a slight lisp but the record don't sound any worse for it imho! Cheers Steve
  7. Hi Swifty Thanks for the mention BUT all the copies I had flew out on the same day I updated the site (last Thursday) Top double sider Cheers Steve
  8. I think I've got a mint DJ copy of Lawrence & Jaibi but would need to check? Please let me know by PM if you want me to have a mooch for it? Cheers Steve
  9. Me again Mark It's here Sir www.soulmusic.co.uk Nice Columbia issue with killer ballad on the other side Cheers Steve
  10. Hi All Just a quick note to let you know that another batch of 45's have just been added to www.soulmusic.co.uk There are LOTS of brilliant 45's this time but most of them are in very small quantities (many of them single copies!) Cheers Steve Plumb 21st January 2010 www.soulmusic.co.uk
  11. Hiya Mark Willy Wiley HERE mate- www.soulmusic.co.uk/Crossover_Soul.htm Hope you're well Buddy? Cheers Steve
  12. Top marks for this Dave T 'I can't wait' is a really good record that will be definitely popular BUT I've a sneaky suspicion the B side of the 45 will make this a double sider to die for! It's another unreleased late 60's/early 70's track that Bill originally put out in about 1990 on a 4 track 12". The track is of course the already in-demand 'I'm the one who really loves you' and the sound on the 45 is brighter than that of the 12". Someone's had a tinker with it and it sounds the DB's! I reckon the 45 will give this track another lease of life and of course ovo venues should be able to play it out too Look out for them both at discerning Soul nights near you in the near future Cheers Steve
  13. We played this a few times at The Orwell and others played it before that I guess? It also got some radio spins at the time too? Was a bit of a buzz on it at the time but the trail has gone quiet on it of late? Think it may have got early Modern scene spins in the early 80's too? It's a great dancer and I love parts of the record but imho it's a tad too long with the choruses slightly too far apart and would benefit from an edit..............say as a 45.............or a CD-R Hard to find too! Hope this helps? Cheers Steve
  14. I have an Excellent condition (cover & vinyl) copy for sale at £50 + postage if anyones interested? Cheers Steve
  15. RIP to yet another Soul Legend.......................and a TRUE legend at that! Glad I saw him perform live in his pomp - what a voice! RIP Teddy Steve
  16. Like a reverse antiques roadshow type of format Telling folks their records are worth more than they think and them being disappointed cos they failed in the £50 challenge
  17. Real quality John I've run the Plumby price-check against them and there's some batches that can be had for £25 never mind £50!!! Now that is good value for money!!! Only one i'd challenge is your first batch of 70's as Billy Cee pushes it to £55-60 (imho!) but i'll let you off Cheers Steve
  18. Nope! £15 £10 £15 £15 £10 Total = £65 (postage extra ) ebay will of course throw them up much cheaper .................but will they be in Ex/Mint condition Flipping great selections though Andy! Cheers Steve
  19. Andy always was ahead of his time - he's a top man with a great ear for a tune that's for sure btw You should have told Steve G this before he covered it up recently, you could have saved him some embarrassment Just glad it's turned up that's all, regardless of who spun it when Cheers Steve
  20. Good news! Nine and a half weeks later.............................today I received the Richard Paradise LP :-) There's a stamp on the front of the parcel saying 'Mis-sent to Singapore' I'm now a very happy bunny Steve
  21. Hi Andy I have one Sir! But I think it's the US release with the labels the wrong way round (from memory) and I also think it may have some distortion (which again, I think is common with this 45 - anyone agree?) Let me know if you want me to dig it out and I can send it with that tasty LP you just bagged from me Cheers Steve
  22. 5 absolute belting records but someone needs to tell me where they are getting their records from as I make that a hundred quids worth worth easy????
