  2. Stevie, you will bloody love it, trust me! See you Saturday Cheers Steve
  3. Big words I know BUT I've just today received a copy of a song due out in June from Ace/Kent that has completely blown me away! I mean seriously this is one of THE best Crossover dancers I've EVER heard! Played it a dozen times straight and I still want more! Found in the FAME vaults and unreleased from 1969 it has everything! Brilliant brilliant brilliant vocals, great song, cookin' backing, horns to die for, driving piano, chattering tambourine! Magnificent! A crossover dancers paradise! It has everything! In my humble opinion, this record will have a bigger effect on the 70's/crossover scene than say Dottie Pearson (Bring it over baby) when that surfaced or the San Fran TKO's, when we got wise to that one etc etc In the same bag as 'Women like it harder' or 'You can't keep a good man down' a big hairy chested Southern Soul mover that will be a staple of the scene for years to come! Came a few days too late but Yarmouth would have fookin exploded if it would have been played there last weekend! It's perfect for the Yarmouth, Orwell style of gigs and will be massive!!! If you think I'm going over the top (and I don't blame you if you do!) wait until you hear it. Gonna be playing it at Soul People on Saturday and then again on Soul People on Solar Radio this Sunday, sorry for the blatant plug couldn't resist it ;-) Listen in, then tell me I'm wrong!!!! June can't come soon enough! Cheers Steve

  13. Hi Nick The LP was a 19p special in Yanks.....................guzzillions of them around at the time (mind you that was 1984!) None left at Plumb Towers either but i'll bet there's still loads around the UK? You're right about the 45 only being 'discovered' many years later, as i don't remember it from the time of release, as we only played it from the LP as a new release in 1982! To be honest I haven't checked to see if it's the same, need to dig it out and check (unless someone beats me to it!) Hope you're well mate? Cheers Steve
  14. ............................and doesn't Mr Warnock bat for the other side now too
  15. The dates on your signature are wrong Steve? Yarmouth is 9th-11th April for a start! Aren't you on at Soul People on 17th April too? Get a grip man Steve
  16. I play Wali Ali 'Oh I need your loving' from it too Pure class imho! Steve
  17. From memory the strings are way down in the mix on the LP for GG 'Aint that good enough' and 'Girl i love you'. The 45's simply leap out the speakers at you and give you a good kicking! Think they could be the same tracks just mixed different for the LP although I could be wrong as i said i'm going from memory and don't have them in front of me at the moment? Steve
  18. I'd say an ex copy on either label would fetch £60-£75? Cheers Steve
  19. Lost Nite is the original release for this great Northern dancer! Forgotten the story as to how it came to be on this label, surely someone will remember out there? Cheers Steve
  20. Neil I had it on me site for yonks with no takers! Had 3 copies too and after being on for a few weeks, they all went in one weekend! Ya got to check them MP3's fella Hope you're well? Speak soon Steve

  23. Fan-fookin-tastic 45 An Orwell/Yarmouth CLASSIC mid tempo femme crossover gem! Rare too! Cheers Steve
  24. I pinched one of those too dave Oops just realised Dave T's post hasn't copied properly in my reply - I meant the Motown cafe menu in the shape of a gatefold LP! Didn't realise they had all now shut! Went to the Orlando one in 2000 Cheers Steve
  25. Yep definitely did come out on 45 on MCA in the UK at the time Cheers Steve
