  14. Just had this thru from the Boys and Girls at Soul Junction Jesse James' original unreleased 70's version of the track made famous on the 70's Scene by Esther Philips & Sharon Ridley I've listened to this a few times now and (trying not to sound like I'm going to far overboard with the hype!) think it could well be another 'Bill Spoon' i.e. It will sell like hotcakes! I'm sure it'll be getting played by all the quality venues BUT if you don't hear it out over the weekend, we'll be giving it a spin THIS Sunday on Soul People on Solar Radio (10am-12 Midday) Cheers Steve
  15. Hi John I was only thinking of this the other day after hearing the sad news about Max. The early Orwell years (before we put all our tents into one basket ) were indeed special and we did 'truly' think we could be a venue that played 60's Northern to Y2K Bumpy & Thumpy (and everything in between) in the one room. We were ultimately wrong but we had fun finding out! It's great to see you hold those nights in such high esteem Bumpy & Thumpy were stars of those Orwell early years, for sure, as both supporters & DJ's and we thank you for that! Hope to see you soon mate and thanks for sharing your memories so vividly with everyone Cheers Steve
  16. Not been on SS for a couple of days and have just seen this! A TRUE legend of the UK Soul Scene and a lovely man too! RIP Max Steve

  21. Well if Glyn can hijack, so can i I've the LP above for sale on www.soulmusic.co.uk btw I sold my last copy of the 45 at £60 a couple of years ago but it has become more in demand and risen a lot over the last couple of years. I'd have thought £75-£100 is not unreasonable these days? Cheers Steve
  22. www.soulmusic.co.uk - SITE UPDATE Just a quick note to let you know that another batch of Northern & Modern Soul 45's has just been added to the site! As always, there are LOADS of brilliant 45's spread ALL OVER the site! Don't think that the only new 45's are on the 'Just Arrived' page? We add 45's to ALL parts of the site ALL the time and we are constantly reviewing & tweaking prices as we strive to give the BEST value for money ANYWHERE on the internet! Spend a little time there and you never know what you'll come out with! Cheers Steve
  23. Hi Steve I've a really decent copy of Three Shades at a decent price HERE but I've just been asked to put it on hold for a guy pending the condition etc If it doesn't go thru I'll come back to you Pity, cos it's been there about a year and the guy only contacted me about it yesterday! Cheers Steve

  25. Just a reminder that nowts changed from post #1 in my mind! Spencer Wiggins is still a monster in the making! If you're in Bury on Friday (The Orwell Room) or Leyland on Saturday (The Northern Room AND The Modern Room), he'll be putting in an appearance! I'm sure he'll also be spun elsewhere this weekend. Check the clip above and then seek him out at all costs! Cheers Steve
