  1. The R&B Indies 4 x volumes is one of the best things ever! Combine that with the above site and all the various internet resources dunt leave much else that's not been covered?
  2. It's always been popular with me (well in me bedroom anyway LOL)
  3. The main clue is the label number #4541 orig and #101 second issue Needs playing out again imho?
  4. As I said on the 'other' forum Sean, the music spoke for itself mate - Two hours of quality Soul Music Cheers Steve
  5. Well that will certainly do no harm to the price of the second issue, knowing it's a legal repress JM always quotes it as booted in the same batch as Timothy Wilson, Anderson Bros, Epitome of Sound, Dave Newman etc Bob - Yeah it was Mark I saw on Friday, sorry for the confusion! Cheers Steve
  6. Steve Plumb replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box

  7. Orig is Olive green #4541 boot is darker green #101 but looks authentic! Sure Boba will know that though Mark? Good to see you on Friday mate! Cheers Steve

  10. Hi Mike The B side is indeed one of me all time fave Deep Soul tracks and a record that got me into Deep Soul after buying it on UK whilst still at school (probably in Feb '76, thanks Paul!) for 'So is the sun' as I always played me B sides even back then. Did the same with Linda Jones on UK WB and my love affair with her began then too I've seen issues and demos on Tower - will bob over and look at the one JM is auctioning out of interest! Cheers Steve
  11. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/grumble1991/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1 Some good UK & US Northern releases from the 70's due up from 11.45pm tonight (Thurday) Including Major Lance (small 45 Okeh second issue), Rufus Lumley UK DJ, Jimmie Raye on KKC, Williams & Watson - Too late UK Epic etc Some good stuff!
  12. That's a recent reissue (from this year?) and it's 100% legal I would imagine? Wasn't booted back in the day I don't think? It got an early Capitol UK issue before the bootleggers got hold of it! Cheers Steve
  13. Oh yes 'Picked up packed and put away' is a killer dancer - top double sider! The UK paper label must be obscure too as most are those 'puke' printed ones Steve was on about

  19. I've heard today of a mate who just bought a Ringleaders 'original' for £150 on ebay - turned up with M-Pac labels stuck over a Stardust 45 Fookin unbelievable how anyone can think they can get away with stuff like this and the above?????????
  20. Just found a small handful of unplayed copies of this great double-sided 45 Charlie 'Cole Black' Brown I Got Your Love Sounding like it should have been made by Tyrone Davis at his peak! Blinding Crossover mover from 1973 which has remained under the radar for many a long year! Listen Here www.soulmusic.co.uk/Records_For_Sale/Images_and_Sounds/1285.mp3 b/w I Just Can't Get Over You You think the top side is good? Then try this AWESOME Deep Soul opus! Marvellous record! Listen Here www.soulmusic.co.uk/Records_For_Sale/Images_and_Sounds/1286.mp3 Jewel Records Note - Although the original is from 1973, this is the legal second issue made in the 80's. Virtually the same as the original but the shade of Blue is slightly lighter on this copy. Still a bargain at £8 Visit https://www.soulmusic.co.uk to buy it at just £8 Cheers Steve
  21. No, don;t have that! I've loads of 60's and also 50's variations but not that one, sorry!
  22. Anyone ever seen a US Avco 45?
  23. Have you a scan or pic you can post up as there are loads of RCA variations? I've got loads of them here?
  24. I've searched for a US copy on Avco but never found one (still looking if anyone has one for sale). The UK copy does crop up, but even that isn't that easy. Not up to date on CD's so can't help you there? Cheers Steve
