  4. Some killer tuneage for a Sunday morning Cliff! Sounded great to me! LOVED that Ski Hi 45, you said I'd like it...........that's an under statement! x
  5. There was a thread on this very subject about a month ago? Covered all the details of when it was played and the differences between orig and 2nd issue etc? Brilliant record imho, have always loved it! Cheers Steve
  6. If this was ever to be true Chalky I would be the happiest man alive with my dealer, collector OR DJ head on LOL Not sure I agree BUT I want to, so here's hoping?
  7. Another cracking post full of Lofty irony :D
  8. Don't think Browny ever had it at Tod? Or at least i never saw it on his shelves back in the day as i used to go quite a bit back then. He didn't get all the titles as i think a lot went thru Voices before the London boys got involved. Think Browny got a lot of the over stock and i'm not sure LL was around in massive quantities like some of the other titles?
  9. A new one on me too! Although as a pure Northern Soul OVO thing I can understand (even if i don't agree with it). I mean I wouldn't think twice about playing The Metros 'Since I found my baby' off the original US RCA LP - Are we saying this shouldn't be allowed????? Particularly hard on the chap who played the Tony Fox track from the LP as the 45 is horrifically rare! Same would also go for Gene Townsel AND Mary Munday tracks (amongst others). I'd happily play all three of these LP's out and would certainly be telling whoever came up to chastise me to 'do one' My own rule (for what it's worth) is that if it's on an LP and it's the original release, then play away! This means for example you can play yer Luther 'Don't wanna be a fool' plus you get another LP-Only dancer 'Follow my love' and another handful of great tracks when you get back home (including the killer title track!) and The Metros LP is packed with goodies etc etc Saying all that, this of course is totally different to doing a full 'LP-Only' set (which I do occasionally) where a 45 doesn't exist. I do them cos I want to as I enjoy the challenge and not because of any rule I didn't know existed til tonight
  10. Well there'll be me, you & Brett (and probably a few others) all vying to get LP tracks into our sets at Morecambe Rog
  11. Was played many moons ago on the Modern Soul scene Ian? Never a monster but was around when all the indie 12"s were piling into the UK in the early 90's and has had plays sporadically over the years (think someone even had it covered up at one time too!) I've a couple of spare copies lying around somewhere if anyone wants one? Cheers Steve
  12. Hi Alan It's a great Deep track but no one i've asked about it knows it? Although saying that i haven't asked everyone i know, just a small handful BUT it did include a couple of Deep afficianados and also Mr Manship amongst others. It's a country label mainly but don;t know owt else about it? Cheers Steve

  16. Original Northern Soul & 70's/Modern Soul/Crossover 45's for sale including loads of new additions ***ALL NOW LISTED - MANY THANKS SEB*** I have been trying to cut and paste them as a neat readable list (via excel, word, exp ression web, notepad etc etc) into here so they can all be read from this thread BUT whatever format I paste it into, all the formatting keeps getting removed and the thread is unreadable? So here's a link that will take you straight onto the page within my site! I wish I could work out how to cut and paste it so it reads within the thread, maybe someone can help? https://www.soulmusic...ginals_list.htm Cheers Steve
  17. Barons Of Soul - You need love - Grapevine 2000 DJ copy I had a few copies of each Grapevine 2000 Demo not long ago BUT they keep selling slowly but surely from https://www.soulmusic...ine_special.htm I've been asked to get another copy of Barons Of Soul, so anyone with a spare copy they'd like to part with, please PM me with price and condition Cheers Steve SORTED NOW - THANKS :-)

  21. A Flanny tip from back in the day if i remember? Great double-sider x
  22. Thanks for that Lofty, means a lot that does (seriously) Cheers Steve
  23. Come on peeps, you know it makes sense, get diggin' them LP's out
  24. Hi Ian You're right, a full set means not having to twiddle each time Many 60's LP's do have brighter mixes but not all! Garland Green Revue LP is well lo-fi whereas I've never had a problem with Clyde McPhatter LP as both tracks seem to bounce out the grooves!
