  3. Gasher and meself told everyone they were originals earlier in the week, soneone did indeed get a bargain.................so kick away, you deserve it Cheers Steve
  4. I've never seen a copy of Brick Grits on 45 (although that doesn't mean it never came out on 45!) - Need to check the Alston listings. Hope this helps Steve Plumb
  5. Hi All Cleaning up me garage recently and found 50 or so 70's Motown UK Green Demos. I've stuck 30 or so on ebay starting at $0.99 each. Lots of Disco, Soul, Funk & the odd 70's Northern dancer included. Have a look i'm sure there's some bargains to be had! Click the following link to peruse the tuneage! https://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewSellersOtherItems&include=0&userid=achangedman&sort=3&rows=25&since=-1&rd=1 Cheers Steve Plumb
  6. Don't worry the second pink one looks OK as it's the same as mine which i found in a West Coast record shop yonks ago (Novotny's actually!) There are two known label designs and i presume they're both West Coast styrene - well the pink one is and i think i've seen styrene copies of the silver reissue (hee hee - only joking about the reissue) Cheers Steve
  7. Does anyone have an email on Mr Domar? PLMK Steve
  8. Brilliant & Classic 70's track, coming back around for a crack at the big time again......... One thing tho' - Whilst DJing with Steve Connor at the last Orwell all dayer, Steve C plays it and says to me (jokingly) 'listen to the lyrics' he's singing 'A man in love and his handicapped son' The actual lyrics are of course 'A man in love, is handicapped some'...........i've not been able to listen to it without cracking up since Have a listen, you'll know what i mean! Cheers Steve
  9. The Fab Playmates has been on another SS thread recently? I remember John Anderson saying on the front page of his list in the 80's that this was the new Carstairs! Bought it blind on that! I think John also said summat about only having 25 copies at the time too! Totally brilliant 45 that i never ever tire of.
  10. I'd say anywhere between £15 and £40 Fabulous tune! Steve
  11. Hi Jords I was playing this at home last week and i'd forgotten just how similar it is to their rarity on Tee Ti (Everyone's got to love somebody). I think the funk scene likes the top side too so i reckon copies will be scarce. Last one i saw went for approx £30 on the bay - that's maybe where you saw it? Hope this helps Take care mate Steve P
  12. Hi Mike I'm a bit confused (bear with me!) i thought a podcast was where you could download the whole thing and listen to it at your leisure on your pc or mp3 player etc? The links on Del Boys shows are just a stream (or am i missing something?) I cannot fnd a place on the site for the ability to download a podcast? Please let me know? Cheers Steve
  13. Nice one Pete
  14. People Just to let you know that THIS Sunday at The Orwell all dayer, we'll be dropping the most incredible record most will hear this year! Rob Grant sent me a cd-r of this a month ago and i've been bursting to play it at The Orwell.......................... Listening to the record you will seriously not beleive it was made this year! It sounds like 70's Philly Soul at it's very best. Fabulously catchy song, raspingly soulful vocals sounding not unlike a cetain Mr Pendergrass, real drums, swirling Salsoul strings, vibes et al................................I kid ye not THIS IS A MONSTER. My guess is that the 'Orwell type' venues will go bananas for it, Y2K Modern Soul venues will lap it up and the Northern scene may even take it to it's heart - it's that good! So what's it called then? 'That's what love does' Produced and arranged by Vince Montana Jr with vocals from William 'Smoke' Howard (ex of The Ebony's) Coming out on 12" in September but will be played out THIS Sunday at The Orwell. Have a quick listen here https://robgrantrecords.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Sounds/vince.rm My advice is to drop Rob an email on robgrant@blueyonder.co.uk to secure your vinyl copy the day it comes out! Cheers Steve Plumb
  15. Fookin ell this went cheap! $711 is a bargain if you ask me! Steve

  18. Impressions definitely came out in the UK on Warner Brothers. Not got any books to hand at the mo' but i don't recall seeing Patti on a UK 45 - If it did come out though, i guess it would be Atlantic. If it never eventually came out in the UK, that would make it a nice little rarity you have there. Great version of 'Love bandit' by the way! Cheers Steve P
  19. I think you're right there Mark - the reissues (green or blue) don't have that great piano intro. I think we've all talked ourselves into reactivating it too Cheers Steve P
  20. I always enjoy hearing your unreleased version of it Stevie BUT to call the Blue version flat & mediocre - sorry can't agree with you there matey!!!!!!! The Green reissue version is a bit thin and watery but to me the Blue Original is FANTASTIC and timeless........in fact i think it's time it was dug out by everyone and their dog and hammered again. I bet the Northern scene would go with it this time 'round too! Cheers Steve
  21. Amen to that One of the BEST records ever (imho) Steve P
  22. If you still need the LP - i think i have one for sale at £15 PLMK Steve
