  4. Hi Shaun Sean from Morecambe asked me to get him a copy (He told me it was a tip from your good self). I was lucky enough to get two copies, one for him and one for me. Best tenner i ever spent i reckon. Easily the best 70's record i've heard for years. Have played it in every set i've done since. Fantastic record that surely must go all the way once copies turn up. The problem is, it is actually pretty tough cos it's Canadian only...........maybe the next Norris Vines Some other great stuff on that list too! On a similar thread, we recently discussed the possibilty of having an 'under £20' night at The Orwell. The amount of people who said they support a gig like that was very encouraging. We're looking to put one on real soon. Cheers Steve
  5. The other one of the fabulous 3 is 'You look like an angel' Lesser known but a beast of a tune Cheers Steve

  10. I agree, he must have been. Nice little item whichever way you look at it
  11. On a demo????? Don't you mean an acetate Sounded great at Yarmouth when you played it Stevie and to my ears it did sound very similar to the orig 45. I love all 3 of the Decisions 45's on Sussex - real quality! Cheers Steve
  12. --> QUOTE(mark.b @ Apr 19 2006, 12:06 PM) link im playing kenny hambers version mark Ey up Mark Aye, i have that on a 12" but the femme version is where it's at matey
  13. Hi Jim Brilliant to see you and Lisa on Sunday - glad you enjoyed it - thanks for the kind comments. Get Lisa down a few more times and i reckon you won't have any problems wasting money on food anymore. I'm sure she's nearly vinyly addicted See you real soon Cheers Steve

  15. I have a spare - can you drop me a pm? Cheers Steve
  16. Thought everone was playing the Esther Philips version now Only joking! I reckon both versions so SA are approx £150 Cheers Steve
  17. That's a good point Dave - we could hold the night and now we couldn't play it That's the down (or is it the up) side of playing tunes like this. When word gets round, demand goes up and inevitably the price goes up. Look at tunes like Ernie Johnson - Big man cry etc Got a great response to the idea at The Orwell All Dayer on Sunday - i reckon it's a goer in the near future! The Soul Police will need to be in attendance i reckon on the night Cheers Steve
  18. Hee hee - we've been here before If anyone can play a stunning under £20 set, then you can Seany Baby We need the Poser Man at The Orwell (again) methinks Speak to you soon matey Cheers Steve
  19. Hi All A mate of mine has a loverly condition copy of this and wishes to move it on to a good home. £300 will get it from him (including postage) Please pm me if interested Ta Steve SOLD NOW - thanks
  20. Aye, the 45's rare alright! Funnily enough i picked a spare 12" of this up on the KonKord label which i'd never ever seen before? Not sure if this is before or after Sheridan House - anyone know????? I suspect after! Great tune tho Cheers Steve
  21. Sounds like a brilliant idea personally - Do you think the sheer amount of tunes available in that bracket, in some respects would make it harder to pin down a play list rather than out and out rarities / in demand monsters / oldies?? Rich
  22. That's already organised....................in October The 'under £20' night may happen before that Glad you've finally changed yer signature Gav BTW Thanks to you Shazz, Roberto & Susie for a wonderful weekend Cheers Steve
  23. Unfortunately the cats out the bag on that one Sean - thanks to you It was the only record i played twice at Yarmouth......sounded fab too (even if i say it meself) Cheers Steve
  24. It is a private press the NCS label are the initials of the guy who wrote and produced it all.........but as i haven't any brain cells left since Yarmouth, i'm buggered if i can remember his name. I know it sounds daft but it could be that the signatures are part of the artwork? I'll scan the fold out in over the next few days and see if it matches everyone elses copy? I'll let you know his name too! Cheers Steve
  25. Completely agree with Paul, Rich Baz etc We always make a point of playing the odd under-played 'easy to get' 45 at The Orwell. Southside Movement is one, Street People on Vigor, Major Harris on Atlantic, Eddie Holman B side on Salsoul.......there's blinking loads of them! An idea that we are planning in the future at The Orwell is to have a night where no DJ plays anything more than say, a £20 tune! The pressure to play rare tunage will be off and i can bet that the quality will be high and then some! Look out for a night like this at The Orwell in the near future. Any one find that idea attractive and more importantly, would you attend a night like that? Be nice to hear everyone's thoughts on this? Cheers Steve
