  1. and the other great track by the Chymes (#71) My baby's gone away/Where i come from Steve
  2. An old Ian Levine tip matey Lovely little tune (in parts), although it drifts a bit (imho) UK only tends to go for £100-£150 Hope this helps Steve
  3. A fantastic record that crosses over into the Northern & 70's scenes....... For example it was played in both rooms at the last Orwell all dayer within minutes by two different DJ's and went down a storm in both! It did actually sell for £75 that very day from one of the sales boxes, although i reckon with a wee bit of patience and a bit of digging it should be bagged for a tad less, as it's been £25-£30 for the last 10 years or so, so there must be one or two floating around? Cheers Steve
  4. Hiya Re - Geno - Only ever seen the one with 'Davis Sisters' although in the early days of Thorne i thought Rod Dearlove used to play it from a test pressing or summat (memory bit hazy on this?) Fabulous piece of 70's Soul WELL WORTH reviving imho Got a copy of 'Jimmy Brinson on Brin...so many miles away' for sale - please PM me for more details. Cheers Steve
  5. Hi All Although i've had no official replies to this thread just gotta say a MASSIVE thanks to all the soul-sourcers who have sent pm's, emails and messages of support for the site (All good and positive by the way ) Looking at the site stats it's clear that shed loads of people came thru from soul-source, so thanks also to all concerned There are currently 24 tunes available to listen to on the site. Got a 'Top 24' from the stats of how many times each track has been downloaded and played........makes very interesting reading regarding the style of the tune and where it is in the list - might publish it at the end of the week if there's any interest in it? Onwards and upwards Steve Plumb
  6. Sound files and label scans are provided for each side, so you can have a look and listen before you buy! Going for quality over quantity - each record has been specially hand-picked to cover a range of styles and prices so hopefully there will be something for everyone! Records can be bought and paid for immediately and will be shipped the very next day. New 45's will be added regularly. Your thoughts on the site would be welcome (good and bad!) Cheers Steve Plumb

  15. I record it onto dvd-r straight from me telly box - then cut it to an mp3 file on me laptop. Actually, i'm looking for a copy of Flanny's guest appearance - Mark doesn't have a copy and neither does Flanny. It was uploaded to Soul Source at one time - i need to check if it is still around? If so i need to download it as i've promised Flanny i'd try and get him a copy of the show. Maybe one of the mods could tell us? Looking forward to guesting on the 2nd July..............and there's a rest day in the World Cup that day too so hopefully we'll get a few people tuning in Cheers Steve

Hi Rod Thanks for the info especially that of the Dorothy Moore - i'll continue with the search for a clean B side (issue or the mythical W/D) but will continue to treasure my issue as the top side 'Believe it or not' is a killer (imho) btw Love your tongue-in-cheek humour - wish everyone on here was like your good self - the whole scene would be a far nicer and happier place Cheers Steve
