Yes, I bought it (from Young Robin if i remember correctly) for this version BUT on tracking th'album found the version of 'Let my love bring out the woman in you' and it blew me away!!!!!!!!!! I'm sure you already know BUT Jesse Butler was the lead singer with ZZ & Co. The LP version was him re-recording the orig 45 a couple of years later! Cheers Steve

Yes, the copy of Len Jewell on Mr Wood that was on JM's auction was from Paul Capon (originally owned by Charlie from London) The only other two i know of are owned by Barry Maleady & meself............that's why i was very keen to know if there were any others around as i've an obvious vested interest in it I always wondered whether Andy Dyson, Butch &/or Tim Brown had it but always forgot to ask them! btw Before i got my copy, i was offered the Paul Capon 45 a couple of years ago for £2000 (don't laugh, it's true!!) I believe the copy on JM's auction went for £364, which even for a relatively beat up copy is a bargain in my book! Wonder who won it?????? Anyone know???? Cheers Steve

Jesse Butler - Let my love bring out the woman in you - another tough LP and a way better version of the former Lonnie Youngblood Modern spin!!!!! I don't think anyone's claiming to have discovered it recently................most folks know of it's plays sporadically since the mid 70's at The Mecca etc...................it's more of a recent re-discovery which is what loads of 45's are still waiting for 'Re-discovery' Seany baby, i agree, wasn't hard to get yonks ago - think i've had two or three at less than a fiver BUT not for the last five years or so! I recently traded one at £125 so I reckon £75 will be a good price to bag one today! Cheers Steve

Last Soul 45 - Gene Redding - Do it with love - US Haven (NOT on the LP) - a blind buy from a few minutes ago on eBay for $1 - Not heard it yet - It could be a future monster dancer, an OK ballad or a funky little mover or maybe just a pile of pants Steve Plumb

Got some good posts coming in now Particularly like the one above..................I'm sure there's a lots more of us about BUT still not enough to get us all together to make a 'truly' ATB one room venue though (imho)! Essence is the nearest but still even with all likeminded souls together in one place, Northern Soul & Soulful Garage still maketh strange bed-fellows that put the dancers into quandries, hence the lack of either extreme! BUT as this thread is about '70's & Crossover' venues..............I do buy into the idea of 'if it sounds right, then play it' though.............particularly for a night with a set genre! i.e. If it sounds like it will fit into a '70's & Crossover' type night, then it matters not if it's mid 60's (say, Sunlovers) or 2006 (say, Heart Attack). Same goes for Nu Soul/R&B venues, which very often nod back to late 70's/early 80's classics or even the Northern scene playing 'Rehab'!!!!! Cheers Steve
