  3. Hi Neil Yeah i gave up hope of owning an original 45 many moons ago (although we still live in hope) The LP will do though until that happy time Come on folks, got the Frank Dell (hopefully) boxed off BUT still need Silhouettes AND Holland Dozier Holland Cheers Steve
  4. Not to my knowledge? If it has, I'd like an original only please Cheers Steve
  5. Just had a whim to ask for these - working off the top of me head, so i'm not 100% sure on titles without checking me wants list at home! Silhouettes - The old and the new - Goodway (it can have the free single with it if you want, although just the LP will do ) Frank Dell - Yesterday's dreams - Guinness Holland Dozier - Today Tomorrow and Forever - Jobete Triple LP Will give all three a good home PLMK Ta Steve
  6. My 'Top 3 bedroom spins that sound like they should be monsters' are- French Coffey - Nothing from nothing - Pick a Hit Teah Louise - You happened to me - Coastal Young Devines - Ain't that sharp - Note I'm sure they're known but i reckon they haven't been played out half as much as they deserve to be! Played all three at Yarmouth recently to a good response and I reckon some if not all will get played tonight at the Orwell (sorry couldn't resist the plug ) Just realised that this isn't really the subject of the original thread So the record I'm hearing out, playing out and generally loving a lot is Summits - Can't get over losing you - Dontee Cheers Steve
  7. Quality Sean, just quality Steve
  8. I agree that everyone who fancies the CD swap should be included rather than the 'lucky' ones who did the first one! I know this causes problems like ' it takes months to work thru them all' etc etc BUT we shouldn't let a little point like this hold us back!
  9. Hi Wilxy I have a stunning unplayed copy of this on www.soulmusic.co.uk/Rarities.htm for what i consider to be a very reasonable price? I got it in a little batch of unplayed things on the Sepia & Triple B Detroit labels - they look (and sound) fabulous! Cheers Steve
  10. Count me in Got in early this time too! I'll go with the flow.............................. Cheers Steve
  11. Thank you Kev Hopefully the 45 you ordered yesterday was on your doorstep this morning? Cheers Steve
  12. Another reminder about this weeks site update! A couple of choice 45's proving to be VERY popular indeed Cheers Steve
  13. www.soulmusic.co.uk Just a quick note to let you know that another batch of 45's have been added to the site this week! Newly added 45's can be found in the 'Just Arrived', 'Rarities' & 'Front Page Focus' sections of the site. We've also added another new section called 'Recent Releases'. Don't forget to check the 45's in the other four sales sections 'Top Sellers', 'Classics', 'More 45's' & 'Even More 45's' as many prices have been tweaked and there are definitely some hidden gems in there at killer prices!!!! Go on, have a look............you know you want to :-) Cheers Steve Plumb 25th April 2007 www.soulmusic.co.uk
  14. Hi Richard 6 tracks on a major label - there's 3 45's on RCA! All really good too I'm also looking to fill me Vic Marcel collection and am missing this one too! In the queue behind Blake then Cheers Steve
  15. I have one of these mate - t'other side is a quality Southern Soul dancer too! Please PM me Cheers Steve
  16. Pretty cool double sider that one Paul Good luck with it mate Cheers Steve
  17. I say, every credit to Mr M.............he's one of, if not the world leader in dealing with Rare Soul! Not all that list is mad either! Seen the Ad Libs sell at over £500 Seen Don Varner sell at over £800 Seen Bill Brandon sell at over £250 (and that's in the last couple of years) It's the old adage, that a record is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it - period! As a collector you want records you own to go up and records you want to be cheap as chips.............but it don't work like that in the real world! Don't know who buys at these auctions BUT like they say, if you want it and you can afford it, then buy it! More power to you Mr Manship Cheers Steve
  18. Let's get this right fellas - i said it was 'listed' in JM's book - i didn't say that's what it's worth!!!! I too believe it's a typo - should be £100 - that's more realistic! Steve
  19. I'd have said £50 tops at a guess? Cheers Steve
  20. Think the 45 is listed as £1000 in JM's latest book Makes the £50 i sold it for a year or so ago a bit sad Should have sold me 12" instead i reckon! T'other side is the side for me - fantastic stepper! Cheers Steve
  21. I have a Billy & Betty on Green Sagport OR Blue Sagport Please PM me if you fancy either of them? Cheers Steve
  22. Hi Pablo I have brand spanking new copies of Jean Carn 'If you wanna go back' at a ridiculously cheap price on www.soulmusic.co.uk ('Top Sellers' section i believe?) I have a Basic Black & Pearl AND a Jesse Gomez also for sale (not on the site).............these are ridiculously expensive though (well Jesse Gomez is!) PM me if interested? Cheers Steve
  23. Hi There I have the Hugh Boynton 'You went back' and also copies of the legit yellow 'We're gonna make it' Please pm me if interested? Cheers Steve www.soulmusic.co.uk
  24. Hi All Has anyone got a current email on a guy called Paul Devlin from Edinburgh? I think he moved house a while ago and changed email address too! If someone could PM me with the email address, i'd be grateful. Cheers Steve
  25. The Kristy 45 saga The quality is poor because it came directly from Kristy herself via an old mid-70's cassette copy of her unreleased LP!!!! I agree that we didn't do anything like as good a job on re-mastering as we possibly could have done (even way back in 2000!). Today though, i bet it could be done far easier and cheaper than it would have done way back when! We made 300 copies of the 45 with a view to selling them quickly to justify (and to afford) to release the full LP! In actual fact we gave away about 20 copies as demos and there were about 50 faulty 45's in there, so there's less than 250 around (although i think i have a handful left, buried deep in my garage somewhere!). I paid for the license/manufacture of the 45's in the US and i also paid Kristy upfront for all 300 copies! Unfortunately, probably due to the quality (although i think there may have been other 'on the scene' factors) they didn't sell half as quick as we wanted them too to justify the LP release, so it never happened I've always said that one day BOTH sides would be monsters on the Northern AND Modern scenes because they are imho two of the very best records ever made!!!! The LP is also fantastic with 9 brilliant tracks that i described at the time as being as good as the unreleased Sandra Wright LP! I do actually have the original CD that was made directly from the cassette and it's fidelity is way better than the 45, so i guess something 'could' be done with it? The problem is, before i could do any remastering i'd have to get back in touch with Kristy, who i'm sure will be as pi**ed as i was that we couldn't make it happen the first time around, so what chance would we have of getting the success i originally promised her, the second time around???? However, i really would still love to see the full LP released one day........... Cheers Steve
