  1. Pauline Shivers was played by Mark as a showcase for www.soulmusic.co.uk to let everyone know the type of tuneage that is on sale on it How good did it sound too!!!!!!!!! Cheers Steve
  2. You have all my sympathies Sean! I once lived in a house with a cellar and lost all my photos and music magazines when it flooded. Thankfully me records were all on shelves and were all OK but still gutting! Hope it all works out well for everyone in your area as it sounds terrible! Cheers Steve
  3. What a great thread - who'd have thought eh! Actually, i still prefer 'All i need is someone like you' from the Jap LP Cheers Steve
  4. I thought the solid centres were basically the half a dozen test pressings that were made of the eventual 45 that turned up in 1990 ish? The story i heard was that Voices got about 25 copies of the real 45 and knocked them out at a fiver each expecting another few hundred copies in later BUT these were shipped to japan in error and they didn't get anymore...........hence it's rarity!
  5. Can some kind soul send me Phil's mobile (BY PM PLEASE!) As i need to contact him urgently! Cheers Steve
  6. Christ, it's been a long two days :-( Great to see the forum back, my withdrawel symptoms just starting to settle down :-)
  7. I think that when copies that are loitering in the back of most sales boxes are hoovered up i can see this being in the £30-£40 region in months to come (and no, i don't have any in stock either ) Start the Dyson..........................
  8. FB LP went for just $50 yesterday on ebay! Fookin bargain and then some!!! Steve
  9. That's when i got mine too! In fact i dug it out last night and gave it a spin at home - guess that funky edge will not sound out of place these days? I also played 'Poor boy' 3 times straight - what a tune! One of the records (along with Oscar Perry & Linda Jones B sides from the same time) that made me realise there was more to life than this Northen malarky Happy days Steve
  10. Love it Great Deep Soul on the B side too! Cheers Steve
  11. OK so we're ALL right White demos and Pink Issues on 45 are the originals and the 12" was released about a decade later by Stan himself................ I just had a mad panic that there was an original 12" knocking around................... Cheers Steve ps Still a great record imho.......love the off key vocals
  12. Hiya Keith That scan AND MP3 look very familiar.................now where have i seen them before Cheers Steve www.soulmusic.co.uk
  13. Hiya Let me know if he's sold it - i think i can put me hands on an Ex copy! Cheers Steve
  14. Hi Wayne Didn't know there was an orig 12" of Stan Ivory - thought it was 45 only? did i miss summat (that's quite possible!) or is that the reissue you're after? Cheers Steve
  15. Hi Paul yep it was that Dutch haul i was talking about PLUS i heard (about third hand) that Gamble & Huff had found a warhouse with guzzilions of PIR w/d's in it too - don't know how accurate this story is? I guess it must be sorta true if their Broad St store is sellig them at $5 a pop? Have dropped an email on the G & H site but to date no one has had the curtesy to reply?????? Thanks all for the info Cheers Steve
  16. Had a few PM's so here's a bit more info for you- As said in the blurb, there's one or two doubles (i.e. 2 copies) and the odd multiple (i.e. 10 copies) BUT not many. As a ballpark guess on % LP wise - Plenty of good quality 70's/80's Soul LP's - probably 70% with say 15% 60's and 15% 90's (sale value is between £2-£10 with probably quite a few more than a tenner) 12" wise - 70's/80's 70%, 90's/Y2k 30% (sale value is between 50p-£8 with probably quite a few more than £8) Ideally suited to the ebayer/gemmer online entrepreneur Cheers Steve
  17. Whilst cleaning my garage out last week i realised i had a load of vinyl (and a few hundred CD's) that I'm just NEVER gonna get round to selling, ever! There must be at least 2000+ LP's and maybe 1000+ 12" singles bought from collections over the years and put into storage - All eras of SOUL with plenty of 70's, 80's & 90's - lots of good stuff from Classic Motown LP's to Soulful garage 12"s and everything in between. Most in Ex condition too! Some doubles and the odd multiple but many are just single copies. These would be perfect for a shop owner OR maybe someone about to open a shop OR someone who regularly does record fairs OR someone who runs a record list OR maybe someone with time on their hands to sell on ebay/gemm. I'm looking for a buyer to take the lot! It'd be well worth your while but sorry i don't want anyone coming up (or down) with a view to buying a 'few bits' - the lot has to go (or it stays in the garage for another 10 years!) Please note - This is NOT my own personal collection so I'm not 100% sure what's in it............you won't find multiple copies of the Pulse LP in there though Please drop me a PM if you want to take it further? Cheers Steve
  18. Archie Bell - Old People I had a few on www.soulmusic.co.uk recently BUT they've now sold and I have a few people waiting for the next copies that come in. Cash or Trade OK PLMK via PM only please Steve
  19. Hi Dante I have an Excellent US demo of Ace Spectrum Would have no probs trading - if you could PM me a list that'd be good? Cheers Steve
  20. What about Chris Anderton in his sexy orange apron in those B & Q adverts
  21. Yep, mine's like that Pete Not sure if it adds value BUT defo looks good Cheers Steve
  22. You don't need to go abroad Simon? Butch has done at least three sets at The Orwell over the last few years, where he has played a mixed genre set every time. Mainly 70's Modern & Crossover with a couple of 60's chucked in for good measure and even the odd funk track!!!!!!!!!!! To say they were phenomenal would be an understatement..........not only was the dance floor 'rammed' for virtually every track but there was a trench worn between the bar and the decks cos of folks continually going to see what the track was that was playing (and that included all 4 Orwellians!) which goes to show that he is pretty much Number One in this genre too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm currently waiting on a date from Mark which hopefully will see him spinning again at The Orwell in 2007 Cheers Steve Plumb
  23. I have a Ex copy of the UK Curtom 12" with the full version of 'All because of you' on the B side in a loverly picture cover. Please PM me if you fancy it? Cheers Steve
  24. Aye forgotten but great In fact I played it at The Orwell when I did me 'Lp only' set earlier in the year! Went down well from memory. Be nice to see this getting the recognition that it definitely deserves! Cheers Steve
  25. Aye he's a beast on them wheels of steel Cheers Steve
