  1. Aye, that started life at £100 too I'll continue to do it though, cos as a collector myself I do tend to buy off guys who sell at reasonable prices and also treat you with respect and not just see you as a cash cow! So a bargain every now and then does no one any harm Cheers Steve
  2. Hi John Yep, it's still there at £30 it's mint and i have only one copy! The reason for this is simple - it's Deep Soul! There are virtually no serious Deep Soul collectors who don't have it! Going back to Northern for another example...........I have had a Jackie Lee (ABC issue) on the site for a few months now. Sold it last week for £50.........started life at £100 I think, which was a tad over-priced I know BUT has been steadily reduced with each site update until it finally sold last week! Personally, I'm of the 'Pete Smith' school of thinking............if it don't sell in a reasonable amount of time, it gets reduced (within reason) until it does sell! (Forgive me if i'm wrong for quoting you Pete but that's how i believe you operate too?) Cheers Steve www.soulmusic.co.uk

  5. www.soulmusic.co.uk Just a quick note to let you know that ANOTHER batch of 45's have just been added to the site! Newly added 45's can be found in the 'Just Arrived', 'Rarities', & 'Front Page Focus' sections. Don't forget to check the 45's in the other five sales sections 'Top Sellers', '70's & 80's Modern Soul Classics', '60's Northern Soul Classic Originals', 'More Tasty 45's' & 'Recent Releases' as many prices have been tweaked and there are definitely some hidden gems in there at killer prices!!!! There's a whole bunch of brilliant stuff up there BUT numbers are limited on many of the 45's so you need to get in straight away or risk missing out!!!! Go on, have a look............you know you want to :-) Click here to view the Front Page Focus section Click here to view the Just Arrived section Click here to view the Rarities section Click here to view the Top Sellers section Click here to view the 70's & 80's Modern Soul Classics section Click here to view the 60's Northern Soul Classic Originals section Click here to view the More Tasty 45's section Click here to view the Recent Releases section Cheers Steve Plumb 9th July 2007 www.soulmusic.co.uk

I have approx 50 or so 'good' Northern pressings and UK reissues from the early 70's going up over the next month or so (Rufus Wood, Triumphs - Okeh, Casanova Two - Orange Issue, Dean Parrish, Paul Sindab, Towanda Barnes, Lee Garrett - Harthon, G Davis & R Tyler, Herbert Hunter, MVP's, Johnny Caswell, Millie Jackson 'House', Bobby Hutton, Kenni Smith, Connie Clark, Lee David 'Ruby', Michael & Raymond 'Orange issue' plus quite a few rare OOTP (Jerry Williams, Velvets, Nolan Chance etc) Starting with these and adding more each couple of days https://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQfrppZ2...assZachangedman Cheers Steve
  9. Agree! Or why not dig out the WONDERFUL version by The New Group on Gemini............a sleeping giant imvho Cheers Steve
  10. Just for the record, this is now sold! Cheers Steve
  11. Cheers Sean Actually, I didn't mean the thread as an advert for the site (honest ) - just wanted to inform folks of two quality 70's dancers coming onto the market in the near future. New Indie labels need all the help they can get imho Cheers Steve
  12. My mate's is still up for grabs at the extortionate price of £75 www.soulmusic.co.uk/Northern_Originals_List.htm
  13. Yes Sean they are how did you guess?
  14. Just to clarify what Paul has said................the copies i have for sale are via www.soulmusic.co.uk Cheers Steve
  15. This warrants a seperate thread methinks (although it's probably been done loads of times before) But (with the case of the UK demo) it's still the 'collector' mentality at work here! For instance, I'm a sucker for collecting issues where they are infinitely rarer than demos (Tony Drake, Channel 3 etc etc) BUT also vice-versa, usually on say, Motown hits were i love having white demos (although these must have both sides on them or it's back to the issue!) Cheers Steve
  16. Great reply that Paul Rather than 'vanity' i'd suggest it's really a 'collectors thing' (and not just on the Soul scene either). It's natural for record collectors to want the 'limited edition' 'special collectors edition' etc etc and owning a demo (which is 'usually' made in much smaller quantities than the issue) to me comes into this category! Cheers Steve
  17. Nice one - many thanks - will contact him Steve
  18. wow! that is an obscure 45! will try and find out when, who and where it's from and come back to you Cheers Steve
  19. Don't know the full story - sorry! I presume it is Clarence Johnson related though! There's not much by them but all they did is excellent imho Steve
  20. Same here mate - essential! I didn't want it to 'sneak' out and get ignored - it's too good for that!
  21. I'm missing 6T2 & 6T3 if any kind soul has them for sale? Cheers Steve
  22. Just got two amazing unreleased 70's dancers that i think could well be popular over the comings months............ Five Wagers - Love Diet Quality version of the current 70's spin on 20th Century by The Imagination! Sounds like the same backing track but with an earthier 'Tempts type' group vocal to it. Possibly the original version BUT every bit as good as The Imagination version. Think it's due out on a CD in the next few months but i reckon this may get the odd spin or two at quality Soul nights? Rozetta Johnson - You better keep what you got Due out on Paul Mooney's Shotgun label very soon - This is a VERY classy early 70's dancer from her Clintone era. Written & Produced by Sam Dees & Frederick Knight! I reckon this could get Modern AND Northern spins! Cheers Steve
  23. Another reminder before it disappears into oblivion (well, page 2!) Steve
  24. I'm sure this will get me the rebuke i thoroughly deserve BUT i have a Major Lance 'small 45' Okeh copy if you wish.......... I'll get me coat Steve
  25. Hi Jason I was that Orwell person selling it at the very high price of £75. It's for a mate and I didn't want to give it away hence the 'top end' price. If you fancy it, please PM me and we'll see if we can haggle our way to a deal Cheers Steve www.soulmusic.co.uk
