  2. Friends had Al Green Keep On Pushing Love (to go in to) And Solo Blowing my mind ( signing the register) The lyrics arent very vicar frriendly are they? lol
  3. Send him Back- Pointer Sisters ?
  4. You ve not been paying attention, we discussed Northamptonshires place in the uk several weeks ago and concluded that we are south midlanders! Keep up ...... btw I prefered Donny with the beard! The empire was a better place when real men had moustaches! xxxxx
  5. You made me smile. x

Me Miss, I know Miss......that s not a number 2 that s fangs you are miming( in a very convincing fashion).
  8. Why dont you all buy it, flip it over and play the wonderful Come thru me instead ?
  9. I would rather listen to really bad soul music than any C and W or Rock opera. I shared a house in the middle of nowhere with a girl who loved Meatloaf and Chris De Burgh. It s was torture! Pity the poor folks on list who have to endure radio or piped music all day every day in their workplace. Esther Phillips voice is horrible imho
  10. He doesnt realise we can multitask and flit between the two sites It s a girl thing Steve! PS Are you going to tell us when the replay is?
  11. Hey You You found your password then! I d sort of forgotten that its saturday today ,these bank holidays dont half put me about. When s the replay? Thanks for Anacostia Love ya xxxxxx
  12. Each to their own but for me CJ is one of the best male vocalists you can get, but then I like great big vocals over blowsy orchestration. The first time I heard hand it over I thought I d died and gone to heaven. I love em all and it was great to see him do Girls Girls Girls live at Northampton, it was absolute class. x
  13. It s probably just me honey but I dont think modern soul is a useful description for 20 or 30 year old records. So I prefer 70 s soul, 80 s soul etc. Most decades show a significant shift in instrumentation and styles so as a form of classification that would be my preference. Modern soul to me is the new stuff coming out from wonderful soul artists like Rahsaan Patterson, Maysa Leak and Phil Perry. Shall I get my tin hat?
  14. I like the Pioneers and have no problem with Lou Rawls but the rest of them can happily be taken to the soul dumping ground never to reappear esp the ironically titled tribute to Betty.
  15. pm d you Paul
  16. The second press looks like the original but is 140 quid cheaper! It sounds the same too . There are both on the Soul Brother web site.
  17. Erm I dont know if he would want to be reminded but I do remember Adam playing Loco at the Oddfellows around 1984 when Buster came out. And yes there were lots of slack jaws amongst the non gum chewing fraternity.
  18. What a great record it is too! I m getting a bit worried about you , 70 s eh, that Jen s leading you astray, you ll be listening to new stuff soon. xxx
  19. The local TK Max is a Mecca (groan) of all tunes soul related. Yesterday they had my son s fav Bobby Womack,Across 110th street , Alton Mclain and Destiny and some Marvin Gaye. It worked as well because I stayed in there long enough to consider buying something...but then I changed my mind. Someone with a degree in marketing has worked out the 40 something soul lover should have a disposable income to spend on reduced designer wear and is creating a happy shopping ambience for us which is nice isnt it?
  20. Is doing the Northampton weekender ! So that s me booking in then. Any more info anyone?
  21. Well its a fair guess it s not me. My old man only just turned up in time for the conceptions, damn sure he wasnt at the births and there s no way I would of got flowers
  22. You ve made me smile. I m not admitting to any of mine, but will always remember Donny Reid at Oddfellows in zoots, flash top and red chukka boots. We were a stylish lot! It was round about the time of Ra ra skirts and acid colours..... classy eh? Trina Ps I only wear black, its night time camo
  23. Claire s not talking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
  24. What a brilliant set of photos. I ll be copying and pasting this one into Janet s birthday card. Thank you
  25. You ought to come over and get yourself out then Steve. You must be able to afford too with all these cheap air fairs . I think if you did you would understand why there is so much feeling about the number of do s and nature of music on offer.
