I only know the Ruby Winters version, ??????????
Ruby Winters Better......does it for me,
Dee Dee Sharp Touch my life
And my alltime smiley
Luther Follow my Love.
None of them are very upbeat but they cheer me.
If you d had the radio on a bit earlier like us poor souls who work at the weekend, you would have heard Brian Matthews playing
Jay and the techniques.... Apples, Peaches.......
Lorraine Chandler What can I do
and OKaysions Girl Watcher....
amongst others.
Or you could of stayed in bed.
It s a proper soul record of the finest type imho.
It was lovely to meet her last year at Northampton , she was singing lead for the Elgins. She s an absolute darling and still has got a brilliant voice. She sang the line" Just like you did me" to us in the bar and said she wished she hadnt papered her flat with those Sonbert discs

From a few years ago!
Dead right to Jock, I usually blame Val and Trev for everything too.
Have you heard what theyve done to the water supply?
Go on and watch the clips, you know you want too

Will the Gloria Shannon be on vinyl or cd at any time? I need it but cant get the mp3 thingy to work (probably just me!)
Some wonderful stuff that youre doing at the mo and thanks for encouraging us to catch up with Mel at Northampton, what an amazing story.

Good post.
Personally cant think of much sadder than goin into a record bar that has been "disneyfied" and no longer sells records but has lots of Northern tat, do people really want to buy Northern Soul Clocks, Keep The Faith Earrings and Wigan Mugs with matching coasters instead of records and cd s. When did it become more important to look the part rather than just being a part (of a brilliant rare soul scene).

Bless you......youve made me laugh. My brother who was a bit of a whirling stomping beast during the eighties is right into his trance and hard house now. We searched thru you tube a couple of weeks ago to look at all this because they are doing it in the clubs over here...........it s big at Passion apparently
I ve told him if I see a video of him attempting to do this in a public place I ll show it to his grandchildren............ oh the shame
I m with Cliff, love the Angela Johnson Woman s Touch , which showcases some of the best in current soul artists.
I m also listening to Sir Wick, Reel People and a bit of Swing out Sister from the new one which is a nice alternative to Duffy
AHHHHHH do you mean good fortune or "it was torture".
I remember this little kid with bras in the ladies loos. My membership is something like 330 but its so tatty it s hard to read. We were such a bunch of liars, the disclaimer say s this person is over eighteen. Ohhh no were werent !
Big love

I go to quite a lot of funerals( it s a work thing ) and often wonder if the folks that have choosen the music have ever listened to the lyrics, I have heard some absolute belters!
Selfishly I kind of hope that I dont have to listen to a record during the funeral that I will for ever more associate with that sad event.
Rather than having a record, I d like to book a full gospel choir for mine please and lots of men looking heartbroken clutching roses and trying hard not to sob!
