    Another excellent night which fulfilled all expectations music-wise. Strangely it was a little slower than usual at the start, but this suddenly changed with a rush of people around 9.30pm. I put this down to the fair one-price-all-night policy (£12), rather than the former two tier pricing. Anyway none of the DJs disappointed. Jez Jones commenced proceedings with a great set of classics and underplayed gems. Alan Jenkins followed with a formidable offering of top drawer rarities. As good as anything played all night. Brilliant. Fred Benson likewise kept the dancefloor hot with a mixture of All-Nighter favourites and sought-after oldies. Great job Fred. Ian Hammie Hamilton was next and did his usual excellent set, mixing the super-rare with the super-classic. Never disappoints. Ted Massey had to dig deep after those three amazing sets, but took it in his stride, and comfortably kept the dancers happy with selections from his seemingly bottomless box of tricks! Faultless (apart from pushing the gain a little too hard on a couple of records). Johnny Beggs followed Ted, playing some of his trademark Acetates to an open minded crowd who lapped them up; the dancefloor was rocking! Well done Stoke's very own JB. John Weston, the joker in the pack, did another outstanding spot, carefully negotiating and avoiding what had gone before. Rarities and underplayed. Great job! Luci Jones followed with her 'different' take on things, dropping some tasteful funky edged flavas into the mix. Refreshing! Rob Smith took the helm next, lightening proceedings with an oldies orientated spot. Perfect timing Rob. Just right for 4am! I rounded things out with a mix of old, rare, obscure and underplayed, finishing as always with Bobby Hutton "Come See..." and Larry Wright "It's OK With Me". Still quite a few in at the death! Looking forward to 11th January, when a similar top drawer DJ roster will be delighting another hardcore all-nighter crowd. BRING IT ON xx Pep

    The longest running North of Watford too... since 1988. Musically as good, if not better, than ever... and played over the huge 20k Keele "wall of sound".

    Yes, it's a quality upfront music policy... probably even more so now than back in the late 80s. Not sure who'll be selling records, but found a few goodies in sales boxes over the last couple of years. Yep! The stars have aligned nicely for this one! ️

    Another great night in a fabulous venue. A very respectable turnout too, considering everything that was one (including the popular Blackpool Wintergardens Weekend) Great, varied Northern Soul music from a first class selection of DJs who know their onions! Sound system was on song as always. Bring on the next one in September. Saturday 28th is the date for your diaries. ️x
