  8. Aretha Franklin would be my first choice I think, closely folloowed by The O"Jays Cheers Paul PS Wouldn"t say no to Archie and his Drells either
  9. Yep you're right there Bernadette, I remember a documentry a few years ago where one of the employees on that night was saying they were bringing Marvin Gaye LPs along to burn (blow up ) with the "disco" records I dunno.................. they'll be burning books next ! Cheers Paul
  10. A "flock" of Back Door Kennies, JT Trouble ? I would have thought a "pride" more appropriate surely Is it these sheep that trouble you. James ? Cheers Paul PS That last bit was from Mr Sid Bridge btw PPS Both of us "wooliebacks" love Disco
  11. Used to have 'Funky Eight Corners" Lonnie Youngblood on either Turbo or All Platinum (Can't remember which) I used to think ''Ton Of Dynamite'' 'used' (sampled) the sax from this...............dunno if I was right and I don't own the record now to check, but I'm pretty sure the rhythm section was very similar too. Could it be Frankie Crockers record was one of the first hip hop sample thingamagigs ? Cheers Paul

  17. Thanks for that jinx74 So your stock copies are the same as TOAD's so different to mine..............so I still need to know which is the original ? Do you think that the RE-1 in the numbering suggests a re-issue ? Any ideas about the instrumental release ? And whats with the "Operator, Operator ! " promos ? Cheers Paul PS Sorry missed that "delta" bit
  18. Hi fabsoul69 You might have more luck looking for "Seven The Loser " rather than "Looser" ?? Cheers Paul
  19. Wasn't there .........don"t know the record ...........but seems to me if one DJ has the original acetate and another plays a carver then thats right out of order Cheers Paul
  20. Hi Chris, The Elanore Mills is the most expensive I reckon The rest are not worth much I reckon But.................Wilson Pickett features "How Will I Ever Know" Jerry Butler & Brenda Lee Eager has a track thats been played Ditto The Moments All the rest are of course great soul LPs but monetary value is probably not that much (shame) Hope this helps Cheers Paul

Sean I"d like to know about the "Accept Me............" promo please jinx74 I'd be interested to know the numbering on your stock copy please TOAD many thanks for the sound clips I hadn"t heard either before, I was thinking maybe the RE-1 in the dead wax of your stock copy suggests its a re-issue ? Many thanks to everyone whos contributed so far and special thanks to Mrs Shrews (and her glasses) for helping me read the dead wax numbering Hopefully Mr Rushden will post something later Cheers Paul PS Just an idea but what do you think a Tom Moulton re-mix would sound like using the vocal/instr a la Fantastic Johnny C "Waiting For The Rain" ???
  25. My "demo" has cisco 01-02 mr stamp "triangle shape" 99029-x My "issue" has cisco 01-02 mr stamp "triangle shape"99029-x The plot thickens................................where are you 'jinx74' ? Cheers Paul
