  3. Yes 1979. I was there and my 1st Wigan nighter was the week after the anniversary in "78. Never seen the Casino so packed it took ages to get in. I remember she did "One Way Out" accapella as the band didn"t know the song. Oh and the Vandellas were one girl & one guy ! Cheers Paul

Saw them a year later in Oakland with The Emotions & Bloodstone in the beuatiful Paramount Theatre, Plenty of gigs in the 80s when I lived in London, Bobby Womack (numerous) Gil Scott Heron(numerous) Chuck Brown & The Soul Searchers @ Town and Country Club Anita Bakers 1st gig (Songstress LP ) Jean Carn Phyliss Hyman Marlena Shaw Johnny "Guitar" Watson (3hours late @ a sold out T&C won the crowd over in minutes) James Brown with Maceo & Fred Wesley Waylo Revue with Otis Clay, Ann Peebles Really enjoyed Rufus Thomas in his "hot pants" too !   16. Afraid not Tim. I was in DC to see the Jerry Butler show & was talking soul with a DC friend when she said "Have you ever heard of Lorraine Rudolph "? Couldn't believe that I had and called her immediately, so I was kinda put on the spot. But that was a very nice spot to be put on ! Cheers Paul
  17. Sad to report that Lorraine Rudolph has died. Spoke with her on the phone some years ago & she told me she had been asked to perform in the UK but sadly that didn't happen. Thank you for the music Lorraine and RIP Paul

My 1st 45 this year Closely followed by Michael J Kirklands 2 new(ish) 45s "Closer" & "Stay Don;t Go" Literally all 3 fell on the doormat today but I ordered Mike & Censations a few days earlier so theres the winner ! Also recieved a couple of LPs last Thursday but they were sent on 24th November 2020 so don;t count for this thread. A Michael J Kirkland hat-trick, not a bad way to start 2021 !!!
