Only the band credited on the LP unfortunatley chorlysoul.....................Jackie Ross version is class.....produced by Calvin Carter, arranged by Riley Hampton....on Jerry Butlers label...........flipside "Don't Change Your Mind" (written by Jerry Butler Billy Butler and Calvin Carter) is a great record too....and shouldn't set you back more than a tenner either Cheers Paul

  20. Tony as I'm sure you know theres at least 3 unreleased Jean Carne tracks...........also a complete Billy Paul LP and an LP of Jerry Butlers, according to Dexter Wansell. When we visited 309 Broad St I also remember seeing a tape of Lou Rawls with "Me & Mrs Jones " on the cover Not forgetting the OJays CD "Together We Are One" from 2004 of course Hope theres not too much damage and Thom Bells piano escaped unscathed !!! Cheers Paul
  21. The deep voice is simply bass singer Earl Young (I know he played bass but reading "soul harmony singles" book it reads like he sang bass in the group too) and nowt to do with Mr White Just listen to "Zing Went The Strings.........." for that bassy vocal Cheers Paul
  22. This was booted in the 70s as a stock wasn't it ? How do you spot a wrong un please? Nice demo Pete Cheers Paul
  23. So from the horses mouth (so to speak ) deffinately not Billy Butler..........he told me himself I was standing next to him 'onest guv But he also said that he may have played on the track.................., he can"t remember all the tracks he"s played on (not surprisingly) For instance I bought the Sharon Ridley "71 Sussex LP while I was in DC and although he was credited on the LP sleeve he had no idea of the LP or Sharon Ridley Sooooo........... I reckon its a demo track with Billys name on for the hell of it (cos he may have played on it) Don't ask me why its not just another acetate for the artists to "sing off" ............I have no idea Just My theory Cheers Paul PS Tony, Billy was pretty convinced it was A& S .................but I"m not gonna argue with your ears
