I really like it. Better than quite literally dozens of records that have been played on the soul scene

Still after this. Anyone?

Anyone got the vinyl for this UK EP, but no cover? If so, would you be willing to part with it so I can pair it up with the cover below? Thanks

I (largely) sold up in the early 90s when I went back to college. I'd only been collecting about 10 years, but I had some OK stuff that I could never afford to buy back now (L. Allen, Willie Tee, Terry Callier, Melvin Moore, Barbara Long, Bobby Hutton and so on). Never got more than £100 for any of them, and in some cases a lot less. What irks me more, though, is that I also sold a couple of bulk loads of pressings, Grapevine singles and 80s releases, most of which I had bought from Soul Stop for 50p each, and I sold them for about the same money. While some of these records have gone on to be relatively sought after (Master Force is one that leaps to mind), others have just gotten ridiculously expensive in relation to their rarity. Since when is any UK Grapevine single worth the £50 - £100 that is now routinely being asked for Flame n' King, Lester Tipton, Betty Boo and others? Never mind, buying back the US originals, I can't even afford/bring myself to buy back the Grapevine singles I'd like to own again. Conclusion - don't sell unless you have to, or you are completely sure that you never want to own records again.

Most Accurate Vinyl Graders Us Or Uk Sellers?
baudrillard replied to slimharpo's topic in Look At Your Box
Funny, no one ever returns a record that's been undergraded... or offers the seller more £! In all seriousness, what the posts in this topic show is that buying records by post can still be largely a game of chance - some you win, some you lose. As a buyer, I've had results on undergraded records and been bitten by overgraders in probably equal measure. As a result, I can't think of more than one occasion when I've felt strongly enough to return a record, because I figure it all evens out in the end. -

Has anyone had any problems with Discogs buyer Hiro77 from Japan? He seems to be a soul collector, so I thought some others might have experienced what's just happened to me. I am not making specific allegations as the case is still under review by Paypal, but I thought I ought to publicise just what happened on here so any other sellers who deal with him in future might know what they could potentially be up against. It's a familiar story - he buys a record in July, waits nearly three months, then requests a chargeback as an unauthorised transaction. Weird thing is, the very same day he does this, he leaves me positive feedback. I message him and ask what's going on, and he claims ignorance. I message him again, sending him what Paypal have just sent me, and he simply replies: "I paid the money". All further messages are ignored. This wasn't an expensive record, so it wasn't sent tracked and, therefore, I'm just going to have to suck it up. If anyone else has had a similar experience with this guy, I'd be glad to hear about it. Other than that, I'd just advise any sellers to beware if you get an order from him, and send it tracked if at all possible. Thanks
