  1. Hello all, I love this track and i really would like to own it. Does any one have a copy they will let go for a reasonable price? I am not bothered about lable condition, but must play well. I have heard of an issue candian epic? I am after a legit original issue, but doesnt matter if it is of US origin. If that makes sense.
  2. Does any one have a stanton T52 turntable or similar stanton turntable they no longer want? if so PM Thanks
  3. Sorry if this has been discussed before, but i was listening to a few of my records and this got me thinking. What songs make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up? These do it or me, dont know if they are maybe a little popcorn poppy for people, But they do it for me... Jordan
  4. Ok I will post it up once I've done my set. I don't think it will blow any one away, but hopefully get people think "I've not heard that in a while" etc etc.
  5. However, I have just seen the question mark in the original posting. Sorry.
  6. I have tried answer the question from another point of view?"Do you think the fact that there were 'real' other forms of music around you during your youth helped you be more musically mature than todays kids"And it does read quite statemnt like, it would read better if it said; "Do you think kids today are less musically mature than in your youth?"
  7. I think its unfair to brand the youth of today as musically imature. I think musical tastes and the broadness of sounds are hugely influenced by what "scene" you get into or the circles you move in, however, there arent as many "scenes" to get into theses days. I find most of my friends (of the non-scene variety) have decent music taste, from the likes of The Who, The Jam, Two Tone to Madchester. But maybe this is why we get along? Because we like a lot of the same stuff. Also, alot of people i kmow are really clued up on the current dance scene, i think these guys are musically mature but maybe not in the sense of listening to music made in the 60's?.. I just think alot of the people on here were fortunate to get involved and have the opertunity to get involved in a wide raange of lifestyles that open up your musical horizons. Im sure many of you had friends that there only desire was to sit in the local pub and listen to the top 20 from the time on the duke box? Are these more musically mature than there conterparts today who only desire is to listen to the top20 in the local night club? Im not sure...
  8. For the record (no pun intended), i have been hunting out personal favourites whic IMO are underplayed and some you just dont hear without spending a fortune as alot of originals are a good price. However, i have hunted down/have access to a few classics but are not done to death like The Snake or Do I Love You, but hopefully they will get people dancing. I have been planning my set for a little while now, and i think i have got a i good ballance between, underplayed and known, but i will only find out on the night. I will post the set list up once i have played if any one is interested?
  9. Another beginers question, obviously when buying a 45 you are generally after the original pressing. But, on many songs there have been official re-releases is the gerneral rule of thumb the closer to the very original pressing the best? I would imagine there are exceptions to the rule in many cases. Obviously, boots and re-issues from last few years are the least sought after in general, but whats peoples opinions on boots from back in the day? Thanks,
  10. I plan on organizing it all into artist order once i have gone through it for obvious artists and songs. You never know there could be a few rarities in there.
  11. There always just been loads 45's in there that my dad has gained over the years. Just left there as alot of it is quite bad like Rolf Harris! MAlot of it is disco and some cheesy pop type stuff, im sure some of it will be fairly popular on the disco scene? But i really dont know what im looking for there. But there is the odd decent track in there which may have come round back into fashion on the Northern scene or didnt make its way into the organised collection.
  12. Ah, uyeah i see its all hear now. Haha. Cheers.
  13. Hmm, looks like a lot of replies have gone missing? I can see why people can easily spend a small fortune collecting records. haha.
  14. I'm on the look out for the above, not interested in reissues. Please pm me. Thanks, Jordan.
  15. I was happy with finding it, I must admit most of it is disco/funk type stuff.
  16. Are you in Lincoln and Newark sc? If so were you at the euro lambretta?
  17. Me and mate have booked up for Scarborough next year, I normally camp every where. But I've started to book a few b&bs, its just great not having a 5 foot tower of luggage on your sprint rack haha! I'm off to the garage to have a look through all the un-sorted singles in there. I found Paris blues and couple of other decent songs.
  18. Yeah, im off to the scooter rally, a nice 180 miles jaunt on the bretta in november. Are you off dekka? Not to sojnd cocky, I am fairly well know on the scooter scene. Get to alot of rallies and met a load of people. Don't know many of the DJs. I went into one of these cash converter type spot and managed to pick up a Stanton deck at a decent price. Just the one, but over the next month or so, i will hunt down another. Thanks for all the great advice so far.
  19. No the scooter is still going strong, off to brid in a few weeks then mablethorpe next month. I just wouldnt mind another :O
  20. Cheers, I will head into town later today maybe. Never thought of that.
  21. I understand what you are saying. I'm not expecting to become one of the top DJs because I'm going to buy a few records and a turntable. And I appreciate it takes years to build up a collection. Let me explain what happened, I played a set using my MP3 collection (I hear groans ). I then get invited to DJ with another local promoter and DJ who run vinyl only nights, its something I'd like to pursue, but I don't have a collection (my dad does). Either way I'm looking for something to keep me off street corners over the winter, and my mum won't allow me too by another scooter ;)
  22. If people do have lists of original records, PM me. Im not going to be buying instantly as i want to put a together a select list of the tracks i want to hunt down and purchase before i going out and spend a fortune...
  23. Ok thanks i will have alook.
  24. I will have a look thanks!
  25. I am not after brand new TBH, i cant afford it. Want to keep this cheap and see if it goes well first. Can any one tell me where i could put a wanted advert on this forum for turntables, not sure which section is best?
