Filmed at warwick soul club Nolan Porter and Stone Foundation part of Nolan's recent tour to Soul venues in June , at the time its all hard work but now i look back and glad i did it . Great Interview with Nolan in this months Scootering .

Replied and explained what Ive been informed by Steve Calloway , yes they never seen a copy of the 45 until steve calloway came over in 2008 and Max showed him his copy although they was often told they got a 45 out . ps We Recorded Did my baby call With Steve Calloway last yr in The studio .

Your right Mate the Original acetate did have " Baby Have Mercy On Me " on it , right found my Interview with CP Spencer and Bill talking about this track , I will have to upload from Tape to cd .. anyone got any ideas ?

Hi Linda , Katie and James I Do hope you can come along to the Longacers pub on Sunday 13th June , This Is Nolan Porters last show and Myself and Nolan have added a special touching Tribute to Max in all the live shows and all shows are Dedicated to Max . Max was so much looking forward to meeting Nolan and was taking him fishing with him like he spent time with Steve Calloway when he was last over . Nolan sends his love to all of you . Chalky

reading this back over and over .. it's really sank into night what this really Means .... Max as gone and i will never like most on this thread will never see him or work or DJ him again and to me this as broken my heart more tonight , I Used to phone him up .. hey Max What you doing on such a date .. Nothing so far .. Right I'm trying this ..you know I don't do that well but least i try .. Chalk's it's about the trying That Count's he used to say ..count me in . One other thing I've learnt on this sad Moment .. No matter how much Banter .... or friendship we have on The Northern soul Scene we all are one Big Family and I'm proud of that .. Blue max was the Dad in the West Midlands .

One thing i would say is please keep the stories coming as the family are reading every one and i know its helping with with the healing process I Know Mart as posted the Pictures on facebook from last years Children in Need Night , well early on in the night i asked a few if they have ever seen Max on the Dance floor and they said no I then went to Max and said when I'm DJING I'm getting you on the floor .. He said your joking cause of my knees , later on in the night I said Hey Max I've got £50 so far to get you Dancing .. his Face was was a picture what about my Knees I'm going away to New Zealand soon .. don't worry i said you will be ok if you can't go I will in your place ... .. he said No I can't do it .. Then he said sod it Ok I will do it but what Record shall i dance to .. as Max asked me a few time to sell my Joe Matthews on kool Kat so i thought of this ... Ye Ye Ye He Replied .. Never forget that time when he came on the Floor to the Cheers in total I think we raised £60 for getting him on the Floor and thats the type of guy Max was ! oh by the way he did end up Buying My Joe Matthews .. He played it at the last Jct 2 Sunday session and he put his Thumb up to me. Once again Thank you Max for the Great great and your Slogan was ....... " GOODTIMES" .

Just a up date ..... After a call and posting on here I went on Soulful Detroit and it seems Ali could be still alive on a life support Machine as anyone else heard ?

Just been informed that Former Temptation Ali Woodson Passed away yesterday . Always loved Ali's voice especailly the track Lady soul and Drama in the Bedroom . RIP ALI WOODSON .

Thanks Kev and Sam ... everyone I phoned tonight are in bits about Max , Max was 100% Northern soul " MR WEST MIDLANDS " yes a few times we had a bit of banter over the last few years but Max was always there for me and always gave me his DJ services with out any fee as he bloody enjoyed his music , I recall at Jct 2 when he came over to me and said Chalky I cant believe this ....meaning talking to Yvonne Vernne Allen from the Elgin's , better was still to come when 2008 the Fabulous Peps over in the uk at the stables and i took Steve Calloway to he's shop on that Saturday Afternoon and trust me you should had seen his face with Ken's when We walked in and Steve singing " That's why I love you " he couldn't thank me enough for that day .. ... better still Steve Calloway came back over for the Groovesille Review tour and Max and Steve got together and again he said Chalk's i cant believe this .. he really loved the Professionals 45 and he told me he was one of the first ever to play it way back in the day , one night I took Max to watch Steve Calloway to Reharse and Record with The Stone Foundation on the way Back we got some Fish and Chips which Max Kindly Brought and spent mostly the early part of the Morning chatting about Soul Music and he gave me the Best advise ever about what i wanted do do .. he said Chalk do it for yourself and for your dreams and i will Max ..for you ! then one night outside Club Dudley i was having a fag with Max and Ronnie Mcnier phoned me explaining about the Problems about performing at NCS allnighter after Max said Hello to him on the phone i said sod this I've had enough .. he talked me down saying what I've done he would never do even though he DJed for nr 40yrs and talked me into that I've got some Memoirs what ever Happens , but i replied and Told him i wanted to be like him a Legend on the Northern scene .. and he was ! Only last week I Arranged with max to take a day with Nolan Porter and we was all going fishing , Max was really looking forward to seeing Nolan .. Max I won't let you down nolan will be there .. I'm going to miss you Max but never will I forget you .. RIP DEARLY BELOVED . Steve calloway also sends he's love and he said he will never forget you either you showed him his 45 he never seen it until he walked into your shop that afternoon and thanks to you for a great afternoon with the Cricket match. again going to Miss you Max.

Don't know what to say just bloody gone Numb , heard about Max this Morning going into Hospital ,I Called Steve Calloway to tell him about Max Steve was so Desperate to speak to Max , just had to inform him of this sad news , RIP MAX WILL NEVER FORGET YOU .
