    Rite here we go for our penultimate rhythm and soul do up at the Staff,its been a fantastic 2022 for all at Something Different Rhythm and Soul Club based here at Shirebrook Staff sports and social club and I'd like to take this opportunity in thanking you all who attend each month,your support is greatly appreciated.Anyway here we go for 12 hours of fantastic rhythm and soul supplied by local lads the STAFF SOULSPINNERS,you are all invited to our Christmas bash and final alldayer of the year.Our resident and loyal friend ROGER BANKS will also be on duty with his vinyl stall if you fancy them last minute presents,he'll also be up there on the decks for a couple of spots..Now then let me announce our very special guest for this final alldayer,the one and only JOHN MANSHIP will be joining us for his annual crimbo visit to the Staff,his knowledge of this great music is 2nd to none and not to be missed..Free entry,free talc,food available and a friendly welcoming club...see you there and from all at Something different rhythm and soul club Merry Christmas and a Happy new year.

    What a nite of great music up here at the Staff,yet again a superb shift put in from all the STAFF SOULSPINNERS..quite a few regulars missing for this one,good job really as they would'nt have got their regular seats as we were full with a lot of new faces,big thankyou to Holly and Debbie who travelled down from Edinburgh to see what we're all about(hope your tea in your flasks kept hot for the journey home)..and the couple who came up from Guildford thanks for coming hope you enjoyed our hospitality..so yeah another brilliant night had by all and new friends made..next up JOHN MANSHIP 17th of December..Free entry,why charge!!

    Our November edition of Something Different rhythm & soul gives you chance to burn off all the bonfire toffee and toffee apples you've all had early November,so get on the dancefloor and dance to great music supplied by the STAFF SOULSPINNERS.Local lads who really enjoy playing their very own personal collections of rare vinyl to you all.As always the ever present ROGER BANKS will be in attendance with his record stall,in between selling he'll also be putting in a couple of spots.Great friendly atmosphere guaranteed..oh and me mams cobs!!..all you need to know is on the flyer.

    As the dark cold nights arrive,we have something to warm you up..yep our October edition of Something Different Rhythm & soul is guaranteed to shake off the cold.Starting at 5pm the Staff Soulspinners will putting the coal on the fire to entertain us right upto 1am.Joining the lads will be our loyal contributor the one and only ROGER BANKS,he'll be bringing his vinyl stall for you to get your early crimbo presents bought.Food available,talc friendly and as always a toastie atmosphere guaranteed..all you need to know is ont flyer,see ya soon.

    I was missing for the 1st 4 hours due to work,but what the lads told me the music early doors was bang on,a handful of afternoon visitors enjoying the sounds of the Staff.As the evening turned into night we had a packed house,with the dancefloor busy all night.The new faces who came did'nt even get to the bar as they went straight onto the dancefloor!!..All Staff Soulspinners yet again putting in excellent faultless spots with their own collections.Our guest for this was GINNER from Worksop,I did'nt get to hear his 1st set,but his 60 minute second spot was brilliant,starting off with a little bit of ska,which got folk up,a round of applause at the end shown peoples appreciation.Again ROGER BANKS was his usual high energetic self,never fails to impress this fella.So yeah another great rhythm & soul do up the Staff,already looking forward to October 29th.On a personal note I've gotta stop drinking pernod special last off,mekkin me badly...thanks for reading.

    As the year rolls on we find ourselves at our September alldayer,starting at 1pm and finishing at 1am,12 hours of superb rhythm and soul played by the STAFF SOULSPINNERS.Local lads who just love playing their precious collections of vinyl.Also part of the team is the one and only ROGER BANKS,who would play music on his own for 12 hours if we let him,he'll also have his record stall set up for you to have a browse.Couple of lads missing for this one so we've got one of our regulars to make an appearance,GINNER will be with us,and if he puts in sessions like he did at the beginning of the year we're in for a treat.As always FREE ENTRY and me mam will be makin the cobs up (proper meat not packet)..we pride ourselves on a great friendly welcome/atmosphere so come along and enjoy our hospitality.

    Now I'm not sure if its me mams meat cobs or the fantastic music what makes people come from far and wide to the Staff but each month we get new faces coming thru the door and all going away more than happy.We were a bit concerned with this month's instalment with it being bank holiday, and we knew some of our regulars were away,but without fail we had a good turnout.All collectors/enthusiasts putting in faultless spots,as usual Roger Banks with his high energy sessions never fails to impress.Great night again folks thanks for coming,and see you at our alldayer in September..ps so yeah it's the music and not the cobs!

    Who fancies coming to Shirebrook for some top rhythm & soul??..well here we have it the August instalment of Something Different,local lads known as the STAFF SOULSPINNERS,playing their very own collections of soul to entertain us for 8 hours.As usual are dear friend ROGER BANKS will be in attendance with his vinyl stall,also playing couple of high energy spots up there on the decks.A well attended July show,with quite a few new people enjoying the music and our friendly atmosphere,no doubt we'll see them again,now it's your turn to see what all the fuss is about.All the details you need to know is on the flyer.See ya all on the 27th.

    Great summer alldayer had by all who came to the Staff,quite a few regulars missing due to Bridlington,but they were replaced by new faces who hadn't been before.All staff soulspinners and ROGER BANKS putting in impressive sets again,so i'm sure the 1st timers to the club went away more than happy.Our guest for this alldayer was JOHN MANSHIP,its always a pleasure to have John with us as not only does he put in excellent spots but he really appreciates what we do and our music policy.So yeah another good un "up club"..thanks to all you lot who came over, and more than anything make it a cracking alldayer..thanks folks see ya in July

    As usual another enjoyable do "up the Staff" 12 hours of superb sounds from all the lads,its amazing how 12 hours seems to go by so fast,though I do feel it Sunday morning!!.we had people passing through early doors,even some going home to get changed and come back at night.Our guest for the evening session was one of our loyal followers GAZ STEELE from Barnsley,he had an impressive half hour spot early on,but an even better hour spot later on,with folk on the dancefloor throughout.So yeah another good un,thanks to you all for attending see you in April.

    After our decision to do away with alldayers all the way through the year,we still decided to hold 4 (spring,summer,autumn,winter).So here we go with our 1st alldayer,starting at 1pm and going through till 1am.The STAFF SOULSPINNERS will be on duty playing their very own collections of original rhythm and soul music,these lads totally love their music and it shows when they're up there on the decks.ROGER BANKS will be also with us for the duration,his record stall will be set up,if you want to treat yourself.For this alldayer we're having a guest playing a couple of spots,a fella who rarely misses our events,and word has it hes got a cracking collection.Barnsley's finest GAZ STEELE will be in attendance.As always it's free entry,food available,talc friendly and a very warm welcome guaranteed.Camping /Caravan available..call for more details..Our poster shows all the info required.

    Very enjoyable night up the staff,all collectors/enthusiasts putting in faultless spots with their very own original collections.ROGER BANKS put in a highly charged energetic hour,this fella really shows his knowledge and enthusiasm when up their on the decks,we here at SOMETHING DIFFERENT RHYTHM AND SOUL CLUB are really lucky to have Roger on board.And now to you the people what come to see what we're all about each month,old and new faces,your support is highly appreciated,we hope you go away happy in what we do,many thanks again..hope to see you all at our 1st alldayer of the year Saturday March 26th.

    After a whopper of a January rhythm & soul night we turn our attentions to February's doo,starting at 5pm and going through till 1am the STAFF SOULSPINNERS will be on hand to entertain you with their very own collection of ORIGINAL vinyl.ROGER BANKS will be in attendance with his record stall,in between selling he'll be doing a spot up there on the decks.As always its FREE ENTRY and talc friendly..one thing that we're all proud of up at Shirebrook Staff is the friendly atmosphere we provide,so get ya glad rags on and come and have an enjoyable 8 hours of Something Different Rhythm and Soul.

    Absolutely fantastic night up at the Staff,gotta be up there with the best ones we've ever had.A proper packed house,culminating in a great atmosphere from all that attended.All collectors/enthusiasts,putting in excellent and enjoyable spots right from the start,really proud of everyone one of you.A big mention and thankyou goes out to our guest for the evening,GINNER,despite the nerves getting hold of him he put in a faultless impressive hour spot,getting folk dancing from the start.An even bigger thankyou goes out to all of you out there that came from far and wide and of course our loyal regulars,its because of you lot we enjoy doing what we do.Thanks again from all at SOMETHING DIFFERENT RHYTHM and SOUL CLUB and hopefully we'll see you all on 19th of February 5pm start.

    Firstly "Happy New Year"to you all,hope your all well and had a great Christmas.Right here we go for our 1st do of 2022.Your all welcome to the "GENUINE"Something Different rhythm and soul club,based at a proper friendly working mens club in Shirebrook..we've decided to change our set up for 2022,we're going to do away with the 1pm starts and move to a 5pm start,so apologies go out to our loyal early visitors(you know who you are,and you know our reasons for the change) anyway we're still offering 8 hours of superb rhythm and soul supplied by,not DJs,but soul enthusiasts/collectors who just hav'nt jumped on the band wagon,but been around for years and really know their music.This month we've got one of our regulars up there on the decks as guest"GINNER"from Worksop,a lovely chap who very rarely misses our doos,and I'm sure his collection will get folk on the dancefloor.We're doing away with guest DJs this year,apart from our alldayers,but going to honor the people we invited before covid struck. ROGER BANKS will be in attendance with his record stall,in between his stints up there on stage.So in a nutshell,the STAFF SOULSPINNERS,ROGER BANKS,GINNER as guest,FREE entry,Talc friendly,a welcoming social club and great music.

    Well what a way to end 2021,we did'nt know what to expect regarding numbers because of the ongoing situation the country is still in,but we were all blown away with the fantastic turn out,as always a steady stream of folk in the afternoon,by 7pm the room was filling up nicely,at 8pm we were comfortably full,even though a few of our regulars were sadly missing.Great selection of tunes played by STAFF SOULSPINNERS all of the 12 hours,I really am proud of these lads,the passion,knowledge and the stories they all have regarding their love of soul music is second to none and a pleasure to sit and listen to them.Like the staff soulspinners ROGER BANKS,1 of the nicest chaps I have ever met,also has knowledge of soul music and his passion really shines through when hes up there on the stage.Our special guest for the day was CHRIS DALTON,a Cleethorpes pier legend,2 fantastic faultless spots from Chris,another knowledgeable fella and a pleasure to be in his company.I could go on and on about this xmas alldayer,but I'll be in trouble with the powers that be so I better sign off.All the best and thanks for your loyal support Merry Christmas and a happy new year from all at Something Different Soul Club.

    Just another update for you all,with the current situation regarding covid 19,JOHN MANSHIP has sadly pulled out for our upcoming alldayer..John has sent his sincere apologies and assures us he will be back up at the STAFF in the near future..not to worry folks we still have a fantastic line-up for you all to enjoy.

    Just a slight alteration to our guest DJ lineup sadly SAUS cant make it due to unforeseen circumstances,but not to worry folks,we've managed to bring CHRIS DALTON in as replacement...so with JOHN MANSHIP we have 2 cleethorpes pier originals!!!

    Yet again another very enjoyable 12 hours up the staff,the lads really gave it there all playing quality after quality tunes all day,numbers a bit down cos of other dooz in the area,but still a very good turnout with everyone enjoying the music and friendly atmosphere..gotta say a big thankyou to you all for supporting us,especially the couple who travelled down from Bolton,to come such a fair distance is greatly appreciated and you both have made new friends..and if little Bob from Rotherham is reading this my ribs are still killing from the stories you told...yeah cheers STAFF SOULSPINNERS for another great alldayer..Roll on December 18th for our xmas do,cos that is going to be something else!!
