    Welcome to 2024 everyone,so here we go for the start of hopefully another successful year with all at"something different rhythm and soul"..New year but same set up, the STAFF SOULSPINNERS will be on hand to entertain us with their own private collections.As usual ROGER BANKS will be on hand with his record stall,so you can spend ya crimbo money.We've decided amongst ourselves that our regulars who attend each month and who are also collectors are to be invited to bring a box and have a spot,so this month please welcome CELIA LEMON & PETE MALLISCH..so each month we'll have 1 of our regulars playing a spot..see ya on the 27th.

    Well what a do to finish 2023 with,absolutely outstanding night with all collectors/enthusiasts putting in fantastic spots,from 5pm right upto 1am superb sounds.JOHN MANSHIP yet again putting In 2 great sessions,filling the dancefloor especially with his 2nd spot.A big thankyou goes out to all the people who have supported us again this year.People from Wigan,Hull,Peterborough, Coventry,Northampton came up to this 1 all going away more than happy.Again thankyou all.Yep already looking forward to 2024..see you all and have a great Christmas.

    Well this is it folks,last un of the year,so I'd like to start by thanking everyone who has supported us in 2023,your support is greatly appreciated and we do what we do because of you lot,you keep coming and we'll keep entertaining.So here we have it Decembers edition of "Something Different"take note we're a bit early this month cos of crimbo dooz up the club but same set up, 8 hours of delightful sounds supplied by collectors/enthusiasts the "STAFF SOULSPINNERS"with the boys the ever present resident DJ ROGER BANKS as well,Roger will be here with his record shop for them last minute crimble prezzies.As the children wait for a special yearly visitor we have our own yearly visitor guest DJ this month is the one and only JOHN MANSHIP..Christmas is definitely coming early up the staff..see ya..and merry Christmas from all at something different rhythm and soul club.

    Another very interesting night up the club,it says "something different "on our banner and omg was it something different.Not only did we have the usual suspects banging out the bangers our guest for the evening was IAN BULLOCH,he bought a different twist to the evenings events by playing a couple of spots of modern,very rarely heard up at the Staff,but got to say went down well,he kept the dancefloor busy with his selections and throughly enjoying himself up there on the stage.Yep another great night..crimbo do next..see ya on the 16th of December.

    Sorry I'm late in posting,I thought I'd done it,anyway who fancies a night of Rhythm and soul?...who fancies listening to rare underplayed soul music supplied by the Staff Soulspinners with our resident mucka ROGER BANKS?..well if ya do why not pop along to Shirebrook staff sports and social club for a very enjoyable 8 hours,as well as top sounds we pride ourselves on a very friendly welcoming atmosphere.We have a guest this month,Bolsovers finest IAN BULLOCH,no doubt Ian will not disappoint with his very own collection of vinyl.Anyone fancy starting their Christmas shopping early??? Roger will be on site with his vinyl stall.Yeah so another top night in store up at the Staff.. not forgetting the world famous "mams cobs" proper meat,not packet..see ya

    Great night up the Staff,I was a bit worried about numbers early doors as the heavens opened up and it chucked it down.But the masses still turned up makin it a fabulous October edition of Something Different,so thankyou all who attended.Thanks again to the lads and Roger for putting a great shift in up there on the decks,all keeping the dancefloor busy.A big thankyou goes to our guest John Walmsley,who did'nt fail to deliver with his own collection,who kept the dancefloor busy and who also received a very well deserved Shirebrook round of applause at the end of his set..Yep good night that was,see ya 25th of November.

    Here we go for our October edition of damn fine music supplied by all at Something Different rhythm and soul club,8 hours of rhythm & soul played by the STAFF SOULSPINNERS and our resident spinner ROGER BANKS.Roger will also be in attendance with his vinyl shop for you to have a flick through.Our regulars,who attend every month and our also keen enthusiasts/collectors,are being given their chance to share their collections with us up at Shirebrook,so this month we welcome JOHN WALMSLEY of Gainsborough to the stage to spin a few discs,what I've heard about his collection he'll definitely fit in at the Staff.Everyone is welcome up the Staff,so come and have a look for yourself..all the details on the flyer,oh and not forgetting me mams famous cobs.

    A very enjoyable night up at Shirebrook,the atrocious weather must've put a few off,which is understandable,but still a good turnout.Think we may have to do a"furthest travelled"award with 1 lady coming as far away as Norfolk!..so yeah a great night of music as usual from the Staff soulspinners and Roger Banks,cant fault it...see ya 28th of October

    Autumn is upon us and the nights are drawing in,so why dont you snuggle up at "The Staff" and listen or dance to pure rhythm & soul provided and played by our very own collectors/enthusiasts "The Staff soulspinners"..ROGER BANKS will also be up the club with his record shop,also putting a couple of sessions in for us up there on the decks.Great friendly atmosphere and everyone will be made welcome...check out the flyer for more details..see ya.

    Cant say to much about our Julys do as I was away,but by all accounts it was another great night..So here we are in August and our night of rhythm and soul hosted by top local lads the"STAFF SOULSPINNERS"with our resident DJ the one and only ROGER BANKS,fancy buying some vinyl? Roger will be on hand with his vinyl store as well as duin a couple of sessions.Its been a great year up at the Staff so far so thankyou all for supporting us each month.Anyway Saturday 26th up the Staff,Free entry,friendly atmosphere and great music oh and "mams cobs"..see ya.

    As the year trundles on we now find ourselves at our July edition of Something different,another night of top sounds supplied by our very own Staff Soul Spinners,lads who just love sharing their vinyl collections.ROGER BANKS will be attendance with his record shop,also putting a couple of spots in..if you've been before you know what we're about,if you hav'nt get yourself over,all you need to know is on the flyer..

    Ace night up at the club,with it being a scorcher of a day I thought numbers maybe down cos of BBQs and holidays etc etc,how wrong could I have been,we had a packer up Staff so thankyou all for turning out..the music as usual was bang on with the dancefloor busy early doors,the heat in the club did'nt stop people from dancing,good job the girls brought their fans!..again a few new faces coming over,got talking to a lovely couple from Wigan who went away more than happy and assured us they will be bringing their friends down to the next 1.I find it quite amusing that all them people from our area going over to Wigan in the 70s/80s to listen and dance to soul music and now in 2023 people from Wigan coming over to Shirebrook to listen and dance!!..Yep a great night again and everyone enjoyed it..next up Saturday 29th of July 5pm.

    Well the talc has settled,Dave Evison has been and gone and what we have left are our memories of a memorable night up at the Staff..so let's move on and make more memorable moments here at SOMETHING DIFFERENT RHYTHM AND SOUL CLUB,here we go for another installment of top sounds played by the ever impressive STAFF SOULSPINNERS,normal lads who just love sharing their collections with us.ROGER BANKS makes a return with his record shop,in between selling he'll be up there on the decks strutting his stuff,spoke to Roger and hes raring to go after missing last months show.So yeah get yourself upto the Staff and see what we're about...Its not all about me mams cobs"its about the music"...now the weather is a lot better onsite camping/caravans are available...check the flyer out...see ya.

    What a night up at the Staff,I was running late because of a prior engagement,but as I was walking up from the train station and getting closer and closer to the club,the beat was getting louder and louder but I still did'nt recognize the sound,walking through the door I then realised why I did'nt recognize the track,up on stage was our guest DJ for the night DAVE EVISON playing a back of the box rare "never played" banger.Even though I did'nt recognize the track,the dance floor was full,it was a pleasure to walk into the club and witness the sights and sounds before me.I could go on and on about our May edition but I'd be typing all night,so I'm just going to say what a lovely knowledgeable man Dave is and it was a pleasure having up at the Staff..Definitely got to mention our very own STAFF SOULSPINNERS who again put in faultless spots all the way till 1am finish,I'm really proud of these lads,same as I'm more than proud of the people who come each month to support us,old friends and new,yep great night...rite I'm off see ya.

    Great night up the club,busy from 6pm,all me mams cobs gone by 6.30pm!!..couple of lads missing for this one due to illness/holiday but still a cracking night had by all,quite a few new visitors again,all going home more than happy.Roll on May 20th for our next un...and it's a special un,have a look in May events!!

    Here we go for a special edition of "Something Different"As usual the ever present residents of the club the STAFF SOULSPINNERS will be on hand to entertain us all with their very own personal collections of rare underplayed vinyl.Now then the creme de la creme,the cherry on the top of a great big sherry trifle,our special guest here at the Staff please welcome..Mr Ms and Casino main room legend,6ts and Blackpool regular,the man himself DAVE EVISON playing back of the box bangers live here at the Staff,could be 1 of his last appearances before retirement,this is a massive coup for SOMETHING DIFFERENT RHYTHM AND SOUL CLUB and we'd like you to come and be part of it,check out Dave's comment about starring at the Staff,he sounds as mad as a box of frogs,so he'll definitely fit in with our lot..how much is entry??     Sorry i'm late with me review,its been an hectic few days..Another ace night up the Staff,packed house again,all the STAFF SOULSPINNERS and ROGER BANKS putting in faultless spots which kept the dancefloor busy Good to see newcomers who came to sample me mams cobs,I mean the music,all going home very satisfied I'm sure.I said to the lads"since back end of last year,and the beginning of this something has definitely clicked"..and with the numbers growing each month its proving it,so we thank you all..next up April 22nd 5pm till 1am...oh by the way,I hope to be making a big announcement soon,so watch this space..now I've got ya thinking ain't I...see ya

    Here we go for our March edition of "Something Different" you're all invited to a night of rhythm & soul up here at Shirebrook staff sports and social club,we've had a fantastic start to 2023 so come along and see what all the fuss is about.The STAFF SOULSPINNERS will be on duty playing their very own personal collections of rare underplayed sounds of soul.As always ROGER BANKS will be in attendance with his vinyl shop,also putting in a couple of sessions up there on the decks."Free entry"is the policy up the Staff and the friendly atmosphere is something we're very proud of,so come along and have a look...ps cobs,rolls or whatever ya wanna call em also on sale..see ya on the 25th!

    I only got back for the last couple of hours,but I walked into a full dancefloor and fantastic atmosphere,the lads really did me proud during my absence with great comments coming from the punters upon my arrival...quite a few new faces at this months edition,nice to see a table full of young uns enjoying the music.Only problem that did arise was the shortage of me mams cobs,they went very quick so one of our regulars Ted Horlicks,who is quite partial to a cob or 5 had to go without,so sorry Ted I'll make sure your sorted at our next do which is Saturday March 25th..thanks all especially the Staff soulspinners.

    What a start to 2023 up here at Shirebrook staff sports and social club,well attended with,yet again,new faces coming to enjoy our music and hospitality,folk from Kettering and East Yorkshire coming to see us and hopefully going home more than happy with what we're about,no doubt we'll see them all again..yep a cracker of a do..next up Saturday February 25th 5pm

    Happy new year to you all,well here we go for another year of brilliant rhythm & soul up here at Shirebrook Staff,we've done away with the 1pm starts due to high alcohol intake,so we're going to kick off at 5pm going through till 1am,same format though, fantastic music played by the SHIREBROOK SOULSPINNERS sprinkled with a spice of ROGER BANKS chucked in making it a delightful cocktail of sounds..all details on the flyer,also 2023 dates have now been released..as always FREE ENTRY!! food available and a friendly welcome awaits..all the best for 2023 from all at SOMETHING DIFFERENT RHYTHM AND SOUL CLUB.

    Just about recovered from another fantastic night up the Staff,a good turnout for our December alldayer,so thankyou all.All the STAFF SOULSPINNERS putting in faultless spots yet again,only 1 mishap resulting in records being strewn all over the stage as Krunches record box / Adidas shoe box collapsed, dont think anyone noticed.ROGER BANKS never fails with his sessions and always puts in brilliant spots,we all enjoy Roger's company.Now onto our guest for the day a big shout out goes out to JOHN MANSHIP it's a real pleasure to have John up at Shirebrook and he definitely goes down well with the regulars putting in 2 powerful spots at this alldayer.So yep we've finished 2022 with a good un thanks folks and see ya in 2023.
