After a cracking January edition of Something Different we move onto February,the usual suspects the STAFFSOULSPINNERS will be on hand to entertain us with their vinyl delights,our resident oppo ROGER BANKS will be in attendance with his music stall and when not selling putting a couple of shifts in up there on the decks.This months very special guest is one of our long standing loyal regulars LITTLE BOB STEER,this fella has been with us from the early days of SOMETHING DIFFERENT and its always a pleasure to be in his company,and he knows his music!!..see ya there,get in early if ya want a MAMS COB.

10 years!!...no way we've been going 10years surely!! Yep we've made it to our 10th anniversary at Something Different rhythm and soul club and to celebrate this achievement the STAFFSOULSPINNERS would like to invite you to our alldayer,I'm a bit late advertising this event but I had to wait for confirmation from the venue so please accept my apologies.Anyway we've got a fantastic line up of COLLECTORS/ENTHUSIASTS with their very own collection of vinyl to entertain us throughout the do,our resident DJ ROGER BANKS will be in attendance with his record shop,also spinning a few discs.Our special guest DJ for this special occasion is JOHN MANSHIP,well known all over the world as the rare soul man,John will be playing rare,underplayed,CLEETHORPES classics,RITZ classics as John DJd at these legendary clubs as well as other venues through the 70s/80s.So if ya not duin anything Shirebrook staff sports and social club is the place to be,if ya cant make it have a great Christmas and happy new year from all at Something Different rhythm and soul club.

With the month of fireworks and bonfires nearly over we have our own banger of a night of rhythm & soul to finish the month off.The ever present STAFF SOULSPINNERS will be lighting the fuse up there on the decks with their very own collections of vinyl.Our resident air bomb ROGER BANKS will be in attendance with his record shop,also doing a couple of sessions with the boys.This months guests are another couple of our loyal attendees PETE and SUE STONE,by all accounts have a cracker of a collection.So there you have it,see ya "up Staff".Check poster for details. One of the STAFF SOULSPINNERS(Krunch) Invites you all to his Soul & Motown night up the Staff on Friday 12th of July.Since setting a date for this do hes been inundated from lads with Soul & Motown collections to get on board and help out so it looks like a cracking night is in store.Krunch held 1 of these nights a while back and it was very enjoyable with folk asking when he's doing another 1 so here you have it folks.

Here we go with Julys instalment of Something Different rhythm and soul..hopefully everyone has had their summer holidays and itching to get back up the Staff for a night of mighty sounds supplied by the STAFF SOULSPINNERS.Our guests for this do are 2 of our regulars and by all accounts have both got great collections so we welcome on stage STEVE LONGWORTH & MARTYN GREENE.As usual our resident ROGER BANKS will be in attendance with his record shop,in between selling his wares strutting his stuff up on the decks..see ya in July!

Shirebrook Staff sports & social club ,the home of "Something Different rhythm & soul club"can proudly announce that this venue has been chosen to hold a prestigious soul music alldayer.One of the rhythm & soul clubs loyal followers has decided to put together an awesome line-up of DJs and as a thankyou to all at "Something Different" is going to showcase the event up the Staff.So please note this is not an "Something Different" rhythm & soul club event. The event will be a charity do with all proceeds going to CANCER RESEARCH & JERRY GREEN DOG RESCUE so a £3 door tax has been implemented.A raffle will also take place with a few soul prizes up for grabs. The afternoon kicks off at 1pm with the STAFF SOULSPINNERS then onto an amazing line-up taking us upto 1am. 17.30-18.30 MICK COOPER..18.30-1930 TERRY WESTHEAD..19.30-2030 ROGER BANKS..20.30-21.30 DAVE RAISTRICK..21.30-22.30 IAN WILLS..22.30-23.30 JOHN VINCENT..23.30-00.30 CHRIS DALTON...SOUL SAM dj spot TBA...GUEST DJ TIMES WILL NOW BE REARRANGED TO ACCOMMODATE "SOUL SAM" Hopefully the weather will be on our side as an outside bar will be situated on the patio area,food will also be available,and all being well a couple more items will be added to the occasion...Just an update folks..A marquee will be joined onto the club,with a dancefloor and speakers with the temporary bar situated inside to make your visit comfortable. A new month is upon us,so that can mean only 1 thing,"The next Something Different rhythm and soul do!!.Saturday 23rd of March folks.Shirebrook Staff is the place to be for a night of rare underplayed soul supplied by the STAFFSOULSPINNERS,10 years we've been running this event and still going strong,so must be doing something right.This months guest is another 1 of our regulars "GRAHAM JOHNSON"no doubt Graham will bring along a box of delights to share with us. Not forgetting the one and only ROGER BANKS,this fella can multi task,not only can he play a couple of spots up there on the decks he can also be on hand with his record shop and serve customers...the campsite is up and running now,so if anyone wants to stay over message/ring me for details..not forgetting "mama cobs"i'm sure folk only come for them..see ya on the 23rd.

Sorry for the late posting folks,as we work closely with our venue we've had to jiggle the date about,as you've now noticed we've had to bring the date forward this month because of other bookings the club have acquired.
