  1. Just as a personal opinion as long as the release is licensed and sounds good it is an original in my humble opinion, like Lester Tipton - This Won't Change its so rare that I love it when someone plays it on Grapevine because I love it to be out dancing to it
  2. Funny you should mention that in-particular record as I bought the 45 of Gloria Jones - Gone With The Wind last weekend at Bisley
  3. Thanks for you help everyone really shed some light for me
  4. Thanks Pete, I normally do play my US if they want OVO but how would you feel to stuff like Melba Moore - Magic Touch on Kent and Betty Boo - Say It Isn't So on Grapevine as OVO?
  5. Hi all, I know OVO can be a touchy subject however I just wondered what UK labels are considered OVO. See personally I feel that Stateside, Grapevine and Kent are OVO and I buy records on these labels. I only ask as I am really getting into my British presses as I find: 1. They are better quality presses 2. They are sometimes significantly cheaper than US originals However I am currently wanting to invest in more records and I am unsure on labels such as Joyboy, Destiny, Soul City. London (bought and Yvonne Baker on London and want to know if I can play it out) and The Epic releases of the Okeh tracks. Just wanted to hear the opinions of some of you as you will be the people I might DJ for some time and I want to know what we are happy with and unhappy with. Thanks and KTF! T x
  6. I know that Giant but for personal use, the boot will do until I can afford a real one
  7. Hi All, If anybody has a copy of Cindy Scott - I Love You Baby on Soultown they would be willing to sell me preferably in excellent condition or better (small marks - not audible) Please inbox me KTF! Thanks
  8. Thanks for the info all, was it ever released on British RCA and if so how much is the British release? x
  9. Ahh right okay - didn't no that, Thanks
  10. Hi all, Wonder if anyone can help me figure something out here - At the moment I am saving up for a Beverly Ann - He's Coming Home on RCA (Saved £50 so far so not much further to go ) But, how comes the DJ copy goes for less than the issue - I mean surely the DJ copy is more desirable so therefore worth more? Thanks T x
  11. I was always told that supposedly 250 demo 45s of Frank Wilson were pressed but the demos trashed and 3 survived? I may have been wrongly informed
  12. Hello fellow soulies, Wonder if you can help me out - I own a copy of Rita And The Tiaras - Gone With The Wind Is My Love on the Dore 2005 release - however the copy I have is 2 minutes long - however I am aware there is longer version does anyone know anything about it or what it was released on? KTF! T
  13. Ann Robinson - World Of Happiness Junior McCants - Try Me For Your New Love Probably rarer than Frank Wilson! Personally I think there are probably more copies of Frank Wilson out in the states there are not gonna be just 3!
  14. Looks good Dave just found it - don't know what dad would say to the extra pocket money LOL! x

  16. When I say silly money I mean £50+ (But mind you at the age of 15 £20 is silly money!)
  17. Hello fellow Soulies, Gotta a few Northern Soul wants that I am after (but don't want to pay silly money for ) Orlons - Envy - Cameo Jo Armstead - I Feel An Urge Coming On - Giant the ZTSC stamped styrene press Chris Clark - Love's Gone Bad - VIP Inbox me if you can help me out! 19. Best has to be Rugby the main room great floor Worst has to be 100 club so uneven!
  20. Artist wise would of said Tommy Hunt has made the most out of the scene, he seems to be the most well recognized live act on the scene: he has loads of performances in clubs throughout the UK, sang at the second anniversary of the Wigan Casino and released stuff on Spark Records would I assume he was paid for
  21. I have The Ivories - Please Stay because I just bloody love it!!! (Also, it makes me smile when it goes off during a lesson!)
  22. Conner LOL! (I love this track though!)
  23. I disagree at the tender age of 14 I have lots of friends (maybe 100+) under 30 that I have met via Northern Soul so I think we needn't worry! But mind you if record prices will crash would do me a favor I spend a bloody fortune on records!
